Editor's Update: EarthVPN is no longer active. If you're looking for a similar, affordable service, we have collated a list of the best low-cost VPNs of 2024.

EarthVPN is one of the most affordable VPN services available. Despite its low cost, it provides users with good performance and features. Unfortunately, reliable streaming isn't one of those features. I was able to unblock Netflix some of the time with EarthVPN but mostly found that the service was detected by Netflix's anti-VPN software. If you want to be able to unblock Netflix every time, you need a more powerful VPN like ExpressVPN.

EarthVPN offers 190 servers in 54 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada, Brazil, Spain, Switzerland, South Africa and Japan. It offers unlimited transfer speeds, unlimited bandwidth and allows peer-to-peer and torrent file sharing. The service supports protocols such as PPTP, L2TP, SSTP and OpenVPN (TCP and UDP modes). It uses 128bit AES and 2048 bit RSA encryption. EarthVPN is dedicated to protecting your anonymity and does not log VPN or user activity.

The connections are speedy and reliable, with EarthVPN providing a 99.99% service uptime guarantee.

EarthVPN is very easy to download, install, configure and use. The service is compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, Android and Linux. EarthVPN can therefore be used on desktop and laptop computers, tablets and smartphones. It can also be used on DD-WRT router, which allows users to use the service withXbox, PlayStation 5, Apple TV and Roku. EarthVPN allows users to connect 3 devices at the same time.

Subscriptions are offered in two formats: monthly and annual. Both options deliver the same services and features, differing only in their duration. There's no requirement for a contract, and a seven-day money-back guarantee is provided. A variety of payment methods are accepted, including credit cards, PayPal, AliPay, UnionPay, among others, as well as Bitcoin and various other digital currencies. Round-the-clock technical support is accessible through email and support tickets.

Besides the standard features, EarthVPN also offers some good additional features for an extra charge. These include having a mobile VPN account, an SSH Tunnel/Socks proxy, a static IP address, as well as 256bit encryption, port forwarding and a dedicated IP address.

For simple unblocking and browsing, EarthVPN is a good choice. If you want a VPN for streaming though, you need to opt for a more robust service. Check out our guide to the best VPNs for Netflix to browse the most reliable options.

EarthVPN offers subscriptions for either 1 or 12 months, they provide the same service with the only difference being the price. A 7 day money back guarantee is offered if you are not happy with the service. In addition to the features offered in its plans, EarthVPN also have several extra features that can be obtained for an additional fee, these include a mobile VPN account and port forwarding.

Reliability & Support

8.3

EarthVPN offers 24/7/365 support via email and support tickets, though responses take a few hours (just over 8 hours to respond to our ticket), they also provide a FAQ section. The connection never dropped during testing, and speeds were generally good – with SSTP providing a much faster connection.

The Bottom Line

Affordability comes with costs, with this company your security won't be one of them

EarthVPN is one of the cheapest options when it comes to choosing a VPN provider. This for a service which offers 190 servers in 54 countries, with a range of encryption options and unlimited bandwidth and P2P sharing make EarthVPN a good choice. They also provide good uptime statisics and don"t record any user logs at all. However, this is not the fastest service that we have tested, and help queries can sometimes take a while to be addressed. Some additional features, such as a static IP address, or mobile VPN also incur an additional charge. For super-fast services and all-inclusive packages that don't charge for extra features, take a look at our 10 best VPNs.

  • Strong encryption
  • Accepts anonymous payments
  • No logs
  • Gets more expensive to use more devices
  • Somewhat variable speeds
  • Support needs to be improved

The only part that isn't dead is the billing emails

I've been with them since 2015. Over the last few years their service has been suffering. Now emails to them are bouncing back because their email is full. Nobody is active in this company. Don't give them a cent of your money. If you have recently purchased a subscription, try to get your money back through your payment provider as earthVPN have been MIA for several months. Users can no longer log into their website. If you're getting overdue account emails, just send them to spam. Keep any correspondence you've made with them in attempt to get subscriptions cancelled.

This is scam

The site is working, but the vpn servers are not working. But the bills are regularly sent to the mail. No one responds to tickets. A fake service that only works for payments. Be careful, do not pay there.

Out of Business?

Found your website from YouTube VPN reviews, decided to go ahead and try EarthVPN based on this review. Paid the $39.99 for the annual plan and none of the VPNs work. I have tried and tried all week and none of the servers are working at all. Support isn't answering and it seems like the VPN is out of business. Since I used bitcoin my money is lost. Please update this review, so others do not end up like me.
