VPN.Asia Review & Test 2024 — Read This Before Buying

Our Score: 6.5/10
Ranked 160th out of 305 VPNs
Kristina Perunicic Updated on 17th January 2024 Managing Editor

VPN.Asia provides complete privacy for their users and ensures that all the data is “invisible" thanks to their 256-bit encryption. Like our #1 recommended VPN, ExpressVPN, VPN.Asia provide a highly secure service, and they do not keep any logs, which can provide truly anonymous downloading and peer-to-peer sharing. You will no longer have to face ISP limitations with VPN.Asia. Surf the sites you want to visit, stream, and download what you want safely and securely.

You'll be pleased to know it can unblock Netflix. But that's about as far as you can get, since the speeds are so slow that it's impossible to stream anything. If you want speedy, unlimited streaming, check out ExpressVPN.

Benefits of VPN.Asia

Regardless of your device type—be it a mobile phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop—VPN.Asia is compatible. The service supports Android, iOS, Mac, Windows, and Linux platforms.

Our tests have found that the service provides very fast connections. This is true whether you are just surfing the web, or if you are going to be streaming or downloading as well. Speed is always important when it comes to a VPN, but you also must think about security. Fortunately, this service has high quality encryption to keep you safe when using the OpenVPN for connections. You will have AES-256-bit encryption and SHA-256 hash authentication.

VPN.Asia features more than 50 servers in 32 countries around the world. Several protocols are usable through the service including PPTP, L2TP, OpenVPN and (TCP/UDP).

Customer service is available around the clock as well. You can send in customized request forms, and you can chat with representatives 24/7. This means you can have help when you need it. In addition, they have all the information you need when it comes to setting up the service for your platform, whatever it might be.

Cost of the Service

The price of the service varies based on the length of the subscription. It is possible to choose a monthly service, which is currently $9 per month. For six months, the cost is $45 or $7.50 per month, billed biannually. The cost for a full year’s subscription is $69, which comes out to $5.75 per month billed annually. VPN.Asia accepts all methods of payment including bitcoin, MasterCard, American Express, PayPal. Discover, Visa, and even Diners Club International.

They also offer a 30-day money back guarantee. This will give you a chance to check out everything the service offers to make sure that it works well for you. Having a single subscription will allow you to connect one computer, one mobile devices, one wireless router, and one streaming media console at the same time. The Bottom Line

VPNAsia is quite impressive with good speeds, though they are a fairly minimalist VPN

VPNAsia is a somewhat minimal VPN provider, with no fancy features like a kill switch. They do, however have fairly impressive numbers, with 50 servers in 32 countries. They also have a no logging policy, which we are obviously fond of, as well as many protocols to choose from.

They claim to have the fastest Tier-1 network, but they didn't deliver in this area when we tested. While it can unblock Netflix, the slow speeds caused too much buffering, lagging, and fuzzy pictures to enjoy any content. If you want a VPN that can unblock Netflix and guarantee fast streaming, check out our top picks.

But, does it come close to premium providers like IPVanish and ExpressVPN? We don't think so. After all, a kill switch is important for making sure you remain anonymous. But you also need fast speeds, top-level security, and impressive unblocking capabilities. With a premium VPN, you'll have all that and more.

So much better then other providers

Besides the fact that it's so easy to manipulate reviews on this website, I thought it only fair to give a real review. VPN.asia is a perfect mix of being cheap and working well. What I also love is their mission to help people in Asia overcome restrictions that are imposed upon them. Fantastic VPN, don't believe all the fake negative reviews, they are great and totally worth the money!

Works great lifetime subscriber

Using it since 3 years and a half, mainly on 2 PCs, sometimes android. No issue, works great with streamio or torrent download or fake location. Just update the client if not working and keep default conf.

Was OK until they changed their software, support was no help

I purchased a lifetime subscription 2/2017 for $39.99...everything worked pretty well, though over time a few of their servers disappeared. None of those were servers I was connecting to so that was not a downer for me. Around 7/2019 they had a pop-up whenever I logged on to download their new software. For a while I didn't download it because the old software was working fine, but I eventually did & tried it & it didn't work, couldn't connect to any of their servers. The new software installed to a different folder than where the old software was so I was able to still use the old software & that still worked. I wrote support letting them know that the new software wasn't connecting. I sent log files and & they did reply. I got a couple of responses that they would look into the matter & a couple of suggestions-none of them that applied. I also had Windscribe (freeversion) installed on my computer & that was still working. For a few months I kept writing VPNAsia support, they kept asking for logs, I sent them & eventually stopped responding to my requests. But, I could still connect using the old software until 8/2019...that's when they finally stopped supporting the old software. Several support emails from me to them, but when they finally did respond none of their advice was helpful. Then they stopped responding altogether. I just gave up & moved on to another VPN service. I figured I got 2 1/2 years of decent VPN service from VPNAsia for $39.99 or $16 per year. My advice-have reasonable expectations if you purchase a lifetime subscription for any vpn-my lifetime was supposed to run til 2069, yeah right, but then again, it may be fixed by then. Note-I only used it on a Windows 10 system, never used it on an android or IOS system. Also I gave it 2 stars because I got 2 1/2 years of decent service.
