VPN.sh Review & Test 2024: Keep in Mind Before Buying

Our Score: 7.1/10
Ranked 108th out of 305 VPNs

I was unable to access VPN.sh site due to a privacy error block, not a good start. We recommend you use a trusted premium vendor like ExpressVPN, to ensure your privacy isn't at risk. ExpressVPN also has the power to unblock streaming services like Netflix, and bypass censorship restrictions globally.

According to information I could find on the service VPN.sh advocates their services as "Perfect for the globe-trotter." Get access to your content anywhere around the globe by using their servers. And with 79 servers in 20 countries worldwide, they have a fair number to choose from. Bypass any geo-restrictions and continue surfing the web as you would from anywhere in the world. Located in the UK VPN.SH offers VPN gateways in many international locations such as the USA, the UK, Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to name just a few of their options.

As with many top VPN companies that we’ve reviewed, VPN.SH uses the most up-to-date encryption methods to help users stay safe and secure online. They protect your privacy and data with PPTP, L2TP and OpenVPN protocols. L2TP and OpenVPN protocols are well known for higher encryption and better security, and the PPTP protocol on top of that offers better speeds and device compatibility.

Choose VPN for protecting a variety of your online activities like emailing, messaging, FTP, VOIP, and browsing. It is also secure enough to shield passwords, financial activities and censor social accounts from surveillance or hackers is you're using the public Wi-Fi hotspots at airports, malls, public parks, hotels and coffee shops.

VPN.SH is also a commendable service provider for respecting its users' online privacy. While they do record IP addresses and details of bandwidth usage, this data is strictly used for system maintenance and troubleshooting purposes. However, it's important to note that, if presented with a court order, the company will cooperate with law enforcement agencies.

Though the company has been running since 2012, and until now, their network never supported peer to peer torrenting. As of June 2016, there is still a notice on their site saying, "We are planning to add some specific torrenting servers in May 2016, which all of our current and new clients will be able to access. An email will be sent out once these specific servers are available." This may now be available, but the website has not been updated. Hopefully, they will post an update soon.

There is only one price package available per month, for unlimited bandwidth but no details are given about what kind of speeds you can expect.
Regarding Customer Service: if you're having issues with their service, they have a detailed knowledgebase for the most common issues. Then a ticket support system for anything else after. They also have detailed guides and tutorials to make setting up a breeze.

To ensure you get the privacy and features you need, we suggest you take a look at our top-rated VPNs.

Wrong charge

I was on a bi-annual plan but they suddenly added a monthly plan for 5 pounds every month. Luckily only one month was charged as I disabled auto pay to them on PayPal. Unable to get any response from their support.

Non-existent customer service and outright fraud.

Was hit for double the cost after they set up a duplicate account and double charged me for a full year, when I tried to contact them I couldn't log in as they appeared to have changed my password, and there is no way of contacting them unless you log in. In the end I had to appeal to paypal for help, who managed to recover the cost from a single months usage, so I can only assume they hadn't been able to contact them either. Avoid at all costs.
