Zero VPN is a completely free app specifically designed for Android devices only. Based in Hong Kong (red flag!), they promise to deliver “zero cost" and “zero difficulty" for all users. We're not sure free is best though. With greater compatibility and security, you'd be much safer choosing a tried and trusted VPN like ExpressVPN.

This VPN will mask your IP address to keep you anonymous while helping to unblock geo-restricted sites in your current location. Perhaps you’re the UK and want to access Pandora or in India and loves Spotify? This is just the tool you need to effortlessly jump over his hurdle.

Although, give Zero VPN a miss if you're after Netflix, as all of it's IP addresses are blocked by the streaming service. The vendors on this list will help you bypass Netflix's geo-restrictions with ease, though.

They are offer a reasonable amount of servers, considering it’s a free app, with a view to adding more in the near future. Servers are located in USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, Japan, Singapore and South Korea.

This application doesn't necessitate any registration, and after downloading, you'll encounter a user-friendly interface. This allows you to choose which apps you wish to reroute through one of their servers. It's necessary to launch each app via Zero VPN. Subsequently, you just need to pick a server and VPN port, and then click to connect.

With no traffic limit and fast speeds, the world’s your oyster. You can go ahead and launch apps that are restricted in your current location, whether it’s Skype, Twitter, YouTube or Facebook and surf confidently knowing that your IP is masked giving you anonymity. You can connect to WiFi hotspots without worrying about your data being intercepted, tracked or stolen as solid OpenVPN protocol is used which is considered the safest and secure in the VPN industry.

However, as free and unlimited as this app is, more privacy minded users might prefer more re-assurance that their data isn’t being collected, monitored or stored, as VPNs that are operating under Chinese rule are required to share information with the Chinese government. It’s not clear what privacy stance Zero VPN takes in regards to data retention but many free services are targeted towards the general internet surfer rather than the hardcore privacy advocates.

Zero VPN doesn't deliver on its promises to unblock restricted content with minimal difficulty, since Netflix remains geoblocked. I'd recommend one of these five vendors if you're after Netflix.

And, the compromise on security doesn't make Zero VPN worth the risk in our opinion. We strongly suggest you consider a global, premium provider instead. Check out our review of the most highly rated VPNs to help you device.

Great while it lasted.

Worked great for 3 weeks. Now I can't connect anymore. Could check email. Send photos on whatsapp, surf the internet and download files easily. It was all I needed. It didn't say it was only a free trial period so not sure what to think.
