Saily: Nord Security's Safe New eSIM for Traveling

Nord Security, the company behind NordVPN, has launched a new global eSIM service called Saily. The eSIM aims to meet the growing demands of global travelers and remote workers by providing a secure and convenient solution for internet connectivity while abroad. It’s designed to give users a solution to avoid the high costs associated with traditional roaming charges.

Saily offers a range of data plans available in over 150 countries, with options from 1GB to 20GB and durations ranging from one week to one month. The plans start from $1.99 for 7GB of data, but this varies depending on the destination country. Saily is also compatible with any phone with eSIM support.

Nord highlights that security is a paramount concern for travelers. It claims that Saily addresses this by reducing the need to rely on potentially insecure public WiFi networks, which are common targets for hackers. Vykintas Maknickas, head of product strategy, emphasized that Saily helps users avoid these risks, ensuring a safer internet connection on the go.

The company has also lauded Saily’s ease of use. The app is minimalistic and has an intuitive, uncluttered interface — users can switch between countries and check their remaining data all from within the app.

Saily requires the internet for setup, but it’s possible to activate the eSIM remotely and prior to arriving at a destination, eliminating the need to physically change SIM cards when traveling to a new country. This ensures that users can get an instant connection to local networks as soon as they arrive.

According to Nord Security, Saily also offers a detailed knowledge base and help center, plus 24/7 customer support — offering assistance with activation and any issues that may arise during use. The company emphasizes that this round-the-clock support is crucial for travelers who may encounter connectivity issues in different time zones.

Being new to the market, Saily doesn’t currently match other eSIM providers in terms of country coverage, with only 150 countries in its network. It also doesn’t provide any unlimited data packages as yet, with some data plans similarly restricted by region. However, Nord Security says it’s working to enhance the service’s global reach by expanding its network coverage to 200 regions in the future.
