IP Gurl VPN is a Canadian-based service that claims to be the best VPN for torrenting, but is it safe? Not safe enough. Lets take a look at the good and bad features of IP Gurl VPN, and why it isn't a torrent lovers best option.
IP Gurl VPN has 50 servers in 28+ countries, all of which are P2P/torrenting friendly according to the site. Users get unlimited data, speed, and bandwidth with any plan, and it offers decent global coverage despite the small server numbers.
Sign up only requires a username and a payment method, no personally identifiable information. You can even use Bitcoin or PayPal for added anonymity. It has apps for Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, Apple TV, Android TV, and Firestick/Fire TV.
IP Gurl VPN uses strong encryption and supports a variety of protocols including OpenVPN UDP/TCP, L2TP/I7PSec, IKEv2, and PPTP. In terms of advanced security, there isn't much, but it does offer a kill switch.
One license is enough to connect to as many as 5 devices simultaneously. Unfortunately, only a handful of servers can access Netflix, something IP Gurl VPN openly admits. The Chicago server works for accessing Netflix and the speeds are decent, but the load on the server during peak hours makes it impossible to stream in HD.
IP Gurl VPN claims it's no-logs. One of the FAQs on its website knowledge base even says bandwidth is unlimited because they'd have no way of knowing how much you use. Sounds good on the surface but a little vague right? I was unable to find a direct Privacy Policy, so I checked out the Terms and Conditions and found a lot of useful information.
IP Gurl VPN doesn't offer services in Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Syria, or Sudan, seems straightforward. On the same page, it says IP Gurl VPN is 'not intended to be used in countries where using a VPN is illegal' and 'will not be held liable' if you're caught using the VPN in one. No one should know I'm using a VPN if it works properly.
IP Gurl VPN can also suspend your account at any time, with or without notice if you're violating the Terms of Service. A VPN that is truly no logs wouldn't know what you're doing while using it.
For these reasons I seriously question its logs policy, and can't recommend IP Gurl VPN for torrenting. If you want a safe VPN for torrenting check out one of our top choices.

IP Gurl VPN has a knowledge base, FAQ's, and a 24/7 ticketing system for support.
