LogMeIn Hamachi Review (2020) - Keep This in Mind Before Buying

Mainly intended for businesses and online gamers, LogMeIn Hamachi is a hosted VPN service that’s very easy to use and highly secure. Unlike typical VPNs, LogMeIn Hamachi is a mesh network in which you can connect to the LogMeIn heavily encrypted servers to be able to connect remotely to your networks on major operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and Mac OS. We're not sure whether it's quite up to NordVPN's standards though, as a global server network is one of the most important, key points of a high-quality VPN.

If you're looking to unblock Netflix and other streaming sites, LogMeIn isn't for you. Why not check out our top picks for Netflix? These vendors all offer worldwide server coverage, unlimited bandwidth, and even better security than LogMeIn.

One of LogMeIn Hamachi’s key points is its polished, feature-rich, professional, and personalized applications that can meet the size of different enterprises. With up to 256 simultaneous connections (5 simultaneous connections for free) as well as different app modes (Mesh, Hub and Spoke, and Gateway) staff members can share files securely and also remotely without a technical background.

Consequently, LogMeIn Hamachi works well with online gamers for its ability to access blocked content on the web including online gaming sites.

In addition, it offers protection against DDoS attacks (common with online gaming wars) through AES 256-bit encryption over both public and private networks. However, it doesn’t have a kill switch, so you need to keep an eye on your connection in case of dropouts.

As previously explained, LogMeIn Hamachi doesn’t operate like commonly known VPN providers. It doesn’t have a global server network to which you can connect to nor does it work on mobile devices, but it provides basic VPN services at its finest for remote and multiple networks usually attributed with businesses and online gamers. There are also plenty of support options like email tickets, phone support, forum, and a detailed F.A.Q. section.

Convenient but not reliable

We have about 50 servers on our Hamachi vpn and on any given day, we won't be able to connect to one or two of them. Typically the servers are still talking to the internet even though we can't log into them.

Excellent VPN when combined with Privoxy

I've used Hamachi for around 8 years for torrents etc. It comes in English and is not difficult at all. Instructions and details on setting it up with Provoxy (also free) are a google search away. 5 is the PC limit per "network". While I only have a few PC's and some redundant I have 3 networks on a single account so I could actually have 15 PC's total. It's free, they provide you with what you need and if I ever have an issue I search online for the answer. They are hard at work over there. I appreciate the free service without ever nagging me to buy anything. No need to bother them! Once in a while my PC will get some corruption (prob win updates) and things don't work right. I simply delete both and reinstall. With Hamachi you have the choice to save your settings as well. Works as-is or well instructed options available for port forwarding, local network options, tor etc etc. With Privoxy you just put the Hamachi listening port in the main config and it's done. So, a free quality VPN setup or go pay for one!

Horrible interface, No support available and very hard to use

When I loaded Hamachi everything was in Japanese, which I couldn't read. I searched online to find solutions on how to change my language and there was no support available. I redownloaded Hamachi, and when I tried turning it on it wouldn't load anyways. 0/10, wasted an entire day trying to get it to work.
