Trying to decide between TurboVPN and CyberGhost? TurboVPN's monthly plans may be more affordable than CyberGhost's, but I wouldn't necessarily base your decision on that.

Firstly, TurboVPN can't unblock as many streaming platforms as CyberGhost. It worked with Hulu, HBO Max, and Funimation, but failed to unblock most other services. CyberGhost is excellent at unblocking streaming platforms, and gave me instant access to most sites.

It also doesn't quite live up to its name. TurboVPN dropped my speeds by a whopping 90% during my tests. CyberGhost is much faster, and much more reliable.

CyberGhost also has a better server network, with 11,690 servers covering 100 countries. TurboVPN also has a large network of 21,000 servers, but you actually only have access to a few depending which app you use.

Worst of all, I found malware bundled into TurboVPN's app. Add in a dodgy logging policy and I just can't trust this VPN. That's why CyberGhost is my overall winner.

CyberGhost is one of the most affordable VPNs on the market — you can get a subscription for as low as $2.03/month. I sometimes assume that price indicates quality, but with VPNs, I've been proven wrong before. So I wanted to see whether CyberGhost can really deliver at such a low price. I did a deep dive into CyberGhost’s privacy policy and security measures to determine whether it’s secu...

    Simple To Use

Great interface and is very intuitive. Many locations with reasonably fast speeds. There are a lot of ... essential features I like as well. Wireguard, Wifi Protect, Etc. I took out the 2-year plan at a fair discount so I can say that, given the price, it's a decent balance of quantity and quality.More

    Pretty good

CyberGhost does not connect automatically in pc when I connect online. Why? And on my phone (Android)...  it sometimes gets stuck, it does not open the app when vpn is working. I have to connect the VPN in my phone settings first. That is pretty annoying.More

Turbo VPN is one of the most popular free VPNs available, but it’s had its fair share of controversies. It has tried to clean up its image over the years, so I tested all its features to see if it can keep you safe online. Overall, I do not recommend using the free or paid versions of Turbo VPN. It’s definitely not safe since it leaked my real IP address on several servers. The free Chrome e...

    It's the ideal free vpn.

Many people complains that the speed is slow but I would like to say that VPNs are slow generally and ... this is much much better than others. Simple, few or non ads and good servers! I'm satisfied in it's normal speed even though I am not a premium user. The speed is quite reasonable for free VPN.More

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

CyberGhost is better simply because it's safer. TurboVPN's app contains malware and the VPN also logs a lot of user information. Even if this wasn't the case, CyberGhost would still be a better choice. It's faster, can unblock more streaming sites, and its apps are easier to use.

    Best VPN for Torrents

CyberGhost is better because it has fast optimized servers for P2P activities. TurboVPN does not allow torrenting on any of its servers, so CyberGhost is the clear winner in this category.

    Best VPN for Windows

CyberGhost is better because TurboVPN's Windows Installer tried to add Backdoor Agent malware to my PC. CyberGhost's Windows app is much more secure. It even offers a Privacy Guard feature that lets you protect yourself against Windows' own invasive privacy measures.

    Best VPN for Android

CyberGhost is better because TurboVPN's Android app is packed with pop-up ads. By contrast, CyberGhost's Android offering is sleek and easy-to-use. It even supports split tunneling (so you can choose which apps go through the VPN) and includes a built-in ad-blocker.

    Best VPN for Mac

CyberGhost is better because supports split tunneling and automatic WiFi protection. This means the VPN launches whenever your Mac connects to an unknown network. It's also compatible with every macOS, including Mojave and High Sierra.

    Best VPN for iOS

CyberGhost is better because its iOS app offers users access to multiple servers across the world, whereas TurboVPN only lets its users connect to one selected server option. CyberGhost also supports WireGuard on iOS, giving you the fastest speeds on your iPhone or iPad.

    Best VPN for USA

CyberGhost is better because it has streaming-optimized servers for US content. My server list was labeled, so it was easy to find the right connection for unblocking Netflix US, Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max, and more. TurboVPN limits your server access on some devices, making it harder to reliably access US content.

    The Bottom Line

TurboVPN's many servers and good unblocking abilities might make it seem tempting, but don't be fooled. This VPN is not safe to use. The Windows Installer I tested included malware and the privacy policy leaves a lot to be desired.

CyberGhost is a much safer option. On top of watertight encryption and a strict no-logs policy, it has plenty of bonus security features like split tunneling, app protection, and automatic WiFi protection. You also can try CybeGhost risk-free. The VPN comes with a 45-day money-back guarantee so you can ask for a refund if you don’t like it.
