Trying to decide between ExpressVPN and FlyVPN? The good news is that one of these VPNs is so much better than the other one, that the choice shouldnt be too difficult.

They are similar in some ways though. They both have excellent security measures, for example. Each VPN offers the highest level of military-grade encryption, secure protocols, a kill switch, and an auto-connect feature.

They can also unblock some of the same streaming sites, like Disney+, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime Video (although ExpressVPN can unblock every other platform too, while FlyVPN can't).

When it comes to performance though, ExpressVPN is miles ahead. It gives you lightning-fast speeds for 4K viewing and has a huge network of 3,000 servers in 105 countries. FlyVPN, on the other hand, has just 40 locations. It was also incredibly slow during my tests.

FlyVPN isn't as hot on privacy either. ExpressVPN uses TrustedSever technology to regularly wipe its servers of data, and has an audited no-logs policy. FlyVPN's privacy policy is vague at best.

You can probably already guess which VPN wins this competition! But let's go ahead and see how they compare in other areas like torrenting and device compatibility.

ExpressVPN is one of the most popular and trusted names in the industry. It’s known for being one of the safest, fastest VPNs around, so I wanted to see if it can live up to these claims. It’s not the cheapest VPN, but it often offers discounts that make it a better value for the money. Other decent VPNs offer similar security features for much cheaper. So, do you really need to pay that muc...

I've been an ExpressVPN customer since 2017 and it's been great: quickly connects to a nearby server i... n the Wash DC region, embedded shortcuts to apps I want to use while using VPN, disconnects quickly, has the kill switch feature which is necessary these days, and has a fine mobile app which works well on my Android phones and tablets. However, I was just notified that the annual price is jumping from $99 to $117 upon the next renewal, so it's time to see how the others compare within VPN Mentor.More

    Ok, but expensive

Seems ok, but I wouldn't say it's worth $20AUD a month. That's steep if you live in a backwater like A... ustralia, where the currency is not valuable. Easy enough to set up - you don't need to be Einstein - but unless you're a tech nerd who can take a look under the bonnet, you'll just have to trust what they say about their product. It frequently drops out without the slightest warning, often when it's the only thing online at the time - despite fast and flawless fiber internet, rendering expression entirely useless UNLESS you have it sitting on your desktop where you can keep an eagle eye on it to actually see it when it drops out so you can kick it back into service again (it doesn't do it by itself), which seems to defeat its purpose, so I'm taking away 2 stars for that. Support is good and they do get back to you as fast as they can.More

FlyVPN isn’t the cheapest VPN out there (in fact, it’s one of the more expensive ones I’ve tested) so I had big expectations. Could this small VPN really live up to its price tag? In short, no. I tested FlyVPN on everything from speeds and streaming to security and value for money. Sadly, it disappointed me at almost every turn. Decent unblocking abilities are marred by incredibly slow s...

    This VPN very good

Before choosing FlyVPN I did a fair amount of research. As the title suggests, although FlyVPN is gene... rally very good, occasionally it does struggle to connect(PC restart normally fixes this though, so maybe it's my system which is the issue ) Price is extremely reasonable when multiple months are bought and it was very simple to set up across multiple devices. All in all i have no complaints and am very happy with my decision.More

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

ExpressVPN is better because it's vast network is much more reliable for bypassing geo-restrictions. It's also the fastest VPN I've tested — meaning you can stream content in the highest possible quality with no buffering. It also offers 5 simultaneous connections for no extra cost (unlike FlyVPN, which charges for additional devices). And, while both VPNs are located in the British Virgin Islands, ExpressVPN has a more trustworthy no-logging policy.

    Best VPN for Torrents

ExpressVPN is better because it has P2P support on every single one of its vast range of servers. FlyVPN is torrent-friendly, but its privacy policy is quite vague and so I can’t recommend it for torrenting. ExpressVPN has the speeds and security to ensure a great torrenting experience.

    Best VPN for Windows

ExpressVPN is better because it has a native Windows app that is easy to install and supports split tunneling (so you choose which Windows app use the VPN). FlyVPN only allows one connection under its subscription, so its plans are limited. It’s also a little difficult to keep track of whether you’re connected or not, as FlyVPN’s Windows interface only stays on the screen for a few seconds after you’ve picked a server. ExpressVPN's app has a much better design.

    Best VPN for Android

ExpressVPN is better because it has an easy-to-use native Android app for all of your Android devices — including Smartphones, tablets, and even Android TV. Like the Windows app, the Android version supports split tunneling. ExpressVPN's Lightway protocol also helps you switch seamlessly from WiFi to cell without comprimising your security.

    Best VPN for Mac

ExpressVPN is better because it's compatible with all macOS devices, including iMacs and MacBooks. The Mac app also supports split tunneling, and has advanced leak protection and an automatic kill switch.

    Best VPN for iOS

ExpressVPN stands superior due to its native iOS application that is simple to install and utilize. Despite the absence of significant features such as split tunneling and a kill switch, its exceptionally speedy Lightway protocol and augmented security surpass FlyVPN's offering for iOS.

    Best VPN for USA

ExpressVPN is better because it has a huge network of 30+ US servers that can access Netflix, Hulu, and HBO Max. Although some FlyVPN servers can unblock platforms like HBO Max and Disney+, it's less reliable and its speeds can be too slow for streaming in HD.

    The Bottom Line

Although FlyVPN presents a number of solid security attributes, it falls short in comparison to ExpressVPN. The latter boasts a significantly larger server infrastructure and superior connection speeds, along with a more trustworthy logging policy.

You can also try ExpressVPN risk-free. There's a 30-day money-back guarantee so you can get a refund if you find it's not right for you.
