How to Get a New Zealand IP Address Anywhere in 2025

Kristina Perunicic Updated on July 03, 2025 Former Managing Editor

If you’re outside New Zealand, you may encounter an error trying to access banking apps like ANZ goMoney, Kiwibank Mobile, or stream SkyGo, TVNZ, or NEON. This happens because many New Zealand-based platforms use geoblocking to restrict access to users within the country.

These services detect your location through your IP (Internet Protocol) address. If it shows you’re abroad, they can block your access. To securely use New Zealand-based services as if you were back home, you’ll need a VPN to change your IP to a New Zealand one. A virtual private network (VPN) routes your internet traffic through its servers in New Zealand, providing you with a private New Zealand IP address from anywhere.

Be advised. The VPNs we recommend have strict no-logging policies, which means they can’t store or keep track of your online activities. So, you’re responsible for how you choose to use a VPN. Please be sure to responsibly follow the rules and regulations of the Terms of Service of the platforms you use. My colleagues and I do not condone copyright infringement.

Quick Guide: How to Get a New Zealand IP Address with a VPN

  1. Choose a VPN.
  2. Connect to a server.
Launch the VPN and select a server in New Zealand to get a New Zealand IP address.
  3. Start browsing.
You can now securely access websites and apps in New Zealand as if you were in the country.

Stay Connected to New Zealand

Whether you’re traveling abroad for work, school, or leisure, or simply want more security and privacy, a VPN can help you stay connected to your favorite sports, news, and streaming services at home in New Zealand.
