Everything You Need to Know About the Nullcon Conference 2018

Ditsa Keren Technology Researcher

On March 2018 Join the Nullcon community for 48 hours of cyber security workshops, lectures and training sessions, followed by beach parties and holi celebrations in one of the most beautiful locations in the world- Goa!

The idea of nullcon emerged out of null - our open security community which is the largest one in India, with 13 branches across India and abroad, and still growing.

The event was created as a gathering for researchers and organizations to brainstorm and demonstrate why the current technology is not sufficient and what should be the focus for the coming years, pertaining to information security.

When we first started, back in 2010, nullcon was known mainly as a research oriented conference. That is something we kept throughout our journey. Since then, the event has grown and evolved significantly.

One of the most valuable additions is a participation of CXOs from around the world. In recent years, enterprises find it beneficial to build strong business relationships during the conference and get an opportunity to recruit highly skilled talents out of nullcon participants. In addition, many Indian researchers choose to present their work at nullcon first, before delivering at other events.

What interesting lectures/ workshops can we expect to see at the event?

We have loaded quite a few big names to amaze our attendees this year. The Opening Note will be by Mr. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Honorable Member of Parliament and Technology Entrepreneur.

Additionally, our keynote speaker for this event is Mr. Haroon Meer, the founder of Thinkst. Already, we are seeing an extraordinary response on social media concerning these two discussions. This instance introduces an entirely new Civil Society Track, featuring a host of impressive speakers, including Eva Galperin, the Director of Cybersecurity at EFF.

Jason Haddix, Head of Trust and Security at Bugcrowd, will bring his hands-on training with The Bug Hunter's Methodology workshop. Within the training sessions, I would like to highlight - Mario Heiderich, Adam Laurie & Joerg Simon.

Goa seems like an unusual choice for a business convention. What made you choose this location, and what kind of audience are you hoping to attract?

It may seem like an unusual choice for an InfoSec conference, but the beach and the weather made us break the traditional idea of an official environment. The idea of Nullcon was to encourage communication between attendees, speakers, sponsors etc. The overall casual feel and the air about this place makes the attendees more relaxed to hold conversations and meet various speakers and sponsors and making business connections while enjoying the Goa atmosphere. We have always had great reviews about the location, and this is one of that things that make Nullcon special.

Register to Nullcon 2018

The Conference will take place at the Holiday Inn Resort, Mobor, Goa, on the 2nd and 3rd of March 2018.

Prior to the conference, we have a 3 & 2 Days Technical Training, where trainers from various subjects facilitate sessions about the latest research / works / etc. You can register for the event via email at info@nullcon.net.

We look forward to having you with us!
