Really knowledgeable techical staff

The best thing about this app is their support team. After I installed the app I was having trouble watching Netflix and Jack was able to find a fix for me in a few minutes. Really, really glad this app still works. Worth it for the amazing service.

ExpressVPN doesn't keep logs

If you're looking for a secure, private VPN server, this one is for you. They use 256 AES encryption and offer server locations in countries around the world. The app itself works great. It's nice little tool to have when you're traveling or browsing free wifi.

Fastest than the rest of them

Speed is critical for me, so I don't really mind the 14 eyes country and all the information given here. I just want to get fast speed and access Netflix US when I travel (and do I travel). All I can say is that in this aspect, ExpressVPN (after testing a few myself and reading many reviews here) are the #1. They didn't disappoint me even once.

$6.67/month
6-Month Plan

1-Month Plan
$12.95/month

ExpressVPN offers a single service with subscriptions available for 1, 6 and 12 months, the longer the duration the bigger the financial savings. The features included are identical – the only difference is the length of the subscription.

Accepted payment: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, Visa Electron, Delta, Diners Club, PayPal.

Reliability & Support 5.0 / 5.0

By clicking “Support” from the menu bar, I was able to choose from 3 options to get help: start a live chat, contact form, direct email. Furthermore, there is a search bar to type in your query, as well as a database of tutorials, and troubleshooting documents. ExpressVPN is definitely the most helpful site out there.

Many VPNs have issues connecting to Hulu, Netflix and other streaming sites, partially due to unstable servers that work slowly occasionally. This is virtually never the case with ExpressVPN, as I have only had to switch servers due to slow connection once.

The Bottom Line
Ran Greenberg
(New-Media and online expert, Venture Capitalist and investor)
You get what you pay for. The extra bucks are worth it for a fast and reliable VPN

ExpressVPN is easy to use and reliable. What’s more, the support system is unbeatable. The fact that they claim to be the best at so many things seems to bring a heightened level of customer service to the whole site. Not only that, but their blog educates its users about the world of VPNs and how to maximize them and great customer service to boot. With server locations in 94 countries, and with unlimited speed and bandwidth, we say it's definitely worth a try.

The 30-day money back guarantee is another promise that we have found that they actually keep. If you are subscribed to another VPN, it is worth even trying Express and asking for a refund at the end of the month if you want. We think you’ll see a big difference from what your are used to.

They claim to be the fastest VPN around, and while I am normally cynical about such claims, I honestly can say this was the fastest VPN I have tried. Their special feature, “VPN Speed Test,” lets users check how fast their VPN server is working so that they can chop and change the location that is fastest for them.

They also have a plethora of servers - 1000+ in 145 locations across 94 countries not that we're counting - and that’s nothing to scoff at. To boot, included with the price of their VPN service is SmartDNS, which gives you access to their MediaStreamer. This enables you to watch Netflix on virtually any platform that you may have so that you aren’t limited to watching your favorite Netflix documentary series on your computer.

We also have to appreciate the number of native apps available, which includes the usual suspects: Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, iPhone, iPad, as well as Linux. They even have an app for Blackberry (albeit only for two models), as well as a router app so that you can protect your entire home with one subscription, something only a few VPN providers have. ExpressVPN also just launched a new Chrome and Firefox extension, so you can see your connection while you browse the web. This makes using their VPN even more convenient since you can set it to automatically open up to the last server you used. Express also has a wide range of protocols available, depending on your privacy vs. speed requirements.

expressvpn-speed-tests               ExpressVPN's speed test - an excellent feature

The whole thing is fairly easy to navigate. ExpressVPN is a little more grown up looking than others, and it does take users through the step-by-step rationale of why VPN’s exist and how they can help us.

Their website has a blog, which can be helpful in demystifying some of those techy traps. However, if you haven’t the patience for all that, you can hit the support button, which directs you to three options for getting in touch with their crew: contact form, live chat, or direct email. I found this to be a truly excellent support system.

Express Tour with lineExpressVPN's ultra-informative site

ExpressVPN is serious about anonymity, so doesn’t log any sort of traffic data or DNS queries. Their basic subscription offer allows the setup of three devices of any type. And they allow P2P on all of their servers, somewhat of a rarity.

One more feature that we appreciate is the inclusion of a kill switch, which ExpressVPN calls Network Lock. This feature is enabled by default when you install their software, but you can opt to switch it off (not that we recommend it).

Although ExpressVPN is a tad more expensive than the others, it makes some serious promises that seem to be their honest word so far. Those include unlimited bandwidth and speed, unlimited servers, and round the clock customer support.

ExpressVPN has a special, only available here. Right now, if you purchase an annual package, they will give you three extra months for free. That’s $6.50/month for one of our top rated VPNs.

Users looking to download torrents and watch live video streaming will love ExpressVPN, which offers blazing speed and protects your device at all times, giving you a stress-free experience with unlimited bandwidth. And of particular concern for Torrent users, Express does not keep any logs, so you do not have to worry about them having any of your information. Either way, Express is based in the British Virgin Islands, so they are not subject to any data retention laws anyhow, so users REALLY can feel protected.

ExpressVPN does not log user activity on Android (or other devices for that matter), which means that those who are using the VPN have the comfort of knowing that their data, as well as their Internet activity, is entirely private. ExpressVPN’s native app for Android is easy to install and does not require any configuration (like some VPNs, which require that use the OpenVPN app). It is important to note that you cannot just install it from the App Store; you must first sign up for an account on their website.

ExpressVPN works seamlessly with all Apple products, offering more VPN locations which are constantly optimized to give you the fastest speed possible. You can set the openVPN protocol as your default setting, providing your Mac desktop with the most secure connection available, without taking a single action.

The network lock kill switch will ensure that your data remains protected even in cases of unexpected connectivity issues, so you can continue streaming music and videos and browsing your favorite websites with no limitations whatsoever. Their Mac app also has split tunneling, making your connection even more secure.

One of the the great selling points of ExpressVPN is the huge number of servers available. These are spread over a whopping 94 countries, all with a strong 256-bit encryption. In the USA alone they have more servers than any other VPN we tested. This allows for much more precise geolocation options than most other providers, and can likely give you access to local services straight from your area, while at the same time providing complete anonymity. The speeds are constantly high and reliable also, earning them their name.
