GuardStreet partnered with Private WiFi to offer a standalone VPN service on both desktop and mobile. How does it stand up against premium vendors like ExpressVPN? We still think you'd be safer and have a better experience with other premium vendors, but here's all you need to know about it.

First off, Guardstreet VPN utilizes Private WiFi’s infrastructure, so don’t worry when you see the latter’s logo pop up — you’ve downloaded the right file.

For plans, you have 3 options: monthly, bi-annual, and annual subscriptions. Payment methods include VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards, in addition to Discover.

A great bonus is the 30-day money-back guarantee, providing a full month to decide whether GuardStreet’s VPN works for you. Refunds are done via customer support.

Speaking of customer support, GuardStreet has gone to great lengths to ensure high quality and great response times. You can contact them via email, phone, and live chat.

Now for the more technical aspects:

Available servers total at 48, with as many IP addresses, across 17 countries. Encryption is solid but not anything special, offering 128-bit bank-level data security. It would’ve been great to see 256-bit AES ciphers, but this VPN definitely meets expectations for protection.

There isn’t exact info on where the servers are located, but since all other GuardStreet services are based in Switzerland, it’s safe to assume the same for the VPN. This means the service is outside EU and US jurisdictions, and under some of the most user-friendly privacy laws in the world.

As for logging, GuardStreet explicitly states in their privacy policy that they don’t “sell, rent or lease your data to third parties", and they only collect miscellaneous information for a better user experience. However, there is no mention of a zero-logs policy, so everything depends on how comfortable you are with this reality.

Content unblocking is, unfortunately, not a strong suit for GuardStreet VPN. Speeds are satisfactory across the board, but the 1-IP-per-server situation doesn’t help — alert services like Netflix have already blacklisted the VPN. Unless a broader IP range is introduced, accessibility will remain rather limited. If you want access to blazing speeds, plus a strict no-logs policy for ultimate security, opt for one of these highly-rated VPNs.

On the upside, GuardStreet VPN offers in-built ad blocking. Any website you access while the VPN is on won’t have incessant ads in your face, which is a definitely a good feature to have.

The Bottom Line

Reliable and secure, with some caveats.

GuardStreet VPN does everything it promises in flawless fashion. Combine that with outstanding customer support and a terrific month-long money-back guarantee, and you have a worthy candidate for your next long-term VPN.

It’s not without its shortcomings, though. The limited variety in IP addresses and the incomplete information regarding the logging policy play to this VPN’s disadvantage.

To summarize, we would definitely recommend this VPN to users in the market for a good mix of speed, privacy, and accessibility, accompanied by excellent support. If it doesn’t work out, there’s plenty of time to get your money back!

Good VPN and Simple

I purchased Guard Street through a different site where it’s just the VPN, and purchased it for $6.97/month. I can use it on 5 devices and they threw in a password manager which I haven’t set up yet. What I like is that it was an easy download on my mobile and ipad. I’m not a techie and if it was complex, I would have cancelled. It seems to load fine and with the World Cup, I’ve been able to stream without issue. There’s no data restrictions and the app has data compression which is supposed to save mobile costs, so I’m in the process of watching for that. It’s been about 3 months and for me it’s been a good find.
