It’s not often that a VPN has cheap prices coupled with an excellent set of features. Yet, when my team and I looked at what NordVPN has to offer, this is exactly what we found. It offers a huge global network of servers, unblocks hundreds of streaming platforms, and has iron-clad security and privacy features — and you can get it all for just $3.29/month. I had to wonder what the catch was. ...

Best documentation was easy to understand

I came from Surfshark which never worked correctly. I had to run from the browser extension with supp... ort telling me it was my network that was causing the problem. That was rubbish. I set Nord up and had it running in a short time from the documentation. I only had to ask support about accessing more servers than just the one I saw. Great product.More

Average service, some nice features, rubbish support

Basic features work really well. Basically. I liked the feature that when Nord crashes (as it seems to...  do monthly) it will shut other apps so they aren't exposed. My subscription is based in Australia. Found downloads peak at about 1-1.5Mb/s, which is ok as long as you aren't playing online games. Don't go for the frills (though hard not to when they gamify them). I canceled my subscription because I added the Kill switch and then MFA. Nek Minnit I can't even log in. No way to remove the Kill switch without logging in. Uninstalled, reinstalled no joy. Went to the help page, and it redirected me to up my subscription as the only solution. No chatbot where I am. and I don't have an email app so couldn't email help. After a couple of hours of mucking around. Gave up and went to a competitor. Note: if I hadn't played with the security settings, I would still be with Nord. But if I can't log in, it's a dead service to me.More

The focus of GetFlix sounds like it should be accessing to Netflix. While it uses SmartDNS to provide fast Netflix streaming, it also unblocks music and video streaming services that might not otherwise be available in your country. GetFlix has more than 90 global VPN servers and 1000 DNS servers located in the United States, Africa, South America, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe, and more. Al...

Getflix DNS

I have had this service for a number of years in New Zealand. Getflix is really a DNS service at fir... st. I have put the smart DNS in my router so it covers all devices in my home. On my Nvidia Shield, iPad, and iPhone I can stream BBC player, ITV, Channel 9, 10, and ABC, and I also have access to HBO max and other streaming services which I would not normally be able to use because of geographic restrictions. DNS is better than using a VPN to change location as it doesn't slow the speed of my connection and also I don't have to keep changing the location on the VPN. If you use this service as a DNS service only it works really well. So again, use this as a DNS service and maybe use another provider for VPN.More

Not working. Terrible customer service

I'm surprised this review is listed as being updated on Jan 22 and still lists US Netflix access, when...  no access to US Netflix has been possible via Getflix since Sept 21 and still isn't possible. As of this week access to Amazon, Prime US has also failed for me and the terrible customer service makes the whole experience so much worse. Typically the chat responses work until you ask a tricky question (like when will this be fixed?) and then they will disconnect you and the entire chat box option then disappears. To make matters worse, despite knowing that several friends and colleagues have had the same experience (of being prematurely cut off) they will try to tell you that you disconnected the chat and that it must be an issue with your internet, although that has literally never happened to me on any other chat service online! In the past the service would go down and they would tell you the backend team was working on fixing it and you'd get an eta, but now it seems that access to Netflix US and Amazon US are not going to be fixed, which is a core part of why people are using the service. It's cheaper than other options but now you know why...More

The Bottom Line

Final Verdict NordVPN has plenty to offer, from fast speeds, to optimized servers and the ability to bypass geoblocks on streaming platforms like HBO Max. It offers excellent security features like AES 256-bit encryption and a strict no-logs policy to keep you safe online. It can also work in China, provided that you install it before you get there, and it’s compatible with a wide range of devices. And when it comes to support, NordVPN is quick to respond with helpful and friendly answers. Its biggest downfalls for me were the long connection times and that it’s slightly more complicated to use for torrenting than other VPNs. If you’re concerned about these issues, I’d recommend ExpressVPN because it offers top speeds and security without the problems I faced using NordVPN.  If you’re still not sure which VPN is best for you, you can check out our top-rated VPNs for 2022
