Your personal information becomes an easy target for identity thieves, hackers, and malicious spammers on public WiFi connections. Private Communications Corporation took it upon themselves to provide the general public with a tool to secure their information. Headquartered in California and founded by Kent Lawson in 2010, Private WiFi was released – a VPN once recognized as an excellent catch ...

Very good for limited need (like mine)

Since I only need a VPN to connect securely to my bank once a week from a foreign country and since my...  bank blocks outsiders, I need a low-cost VPN with strong encryption and a strong protocol. Private WIFI suits my need perfectly for 30 USD a year. I see no reason why I should pay more for fancier VPN or trust those with headquarters in Panama, on Virgin Island, in Russia, or in China.More

No one's at home at Customer Service

Private Wifi died about 6 months ago, I have 2 months left in the annual subscription. Many messages w... ere sent to Customer Service over these months, never any kind of reply. I think they have a number, but they keep banker's hours, so I'd be at work. Anyway got 4 months for the annual fee.More

HMA (formerly HideMyAss) is a relatively cheap VPN that claims to offer more server locations than anyone else. However, it has faced some serious controversies in the past. Is it a VPN that can keep you safe and anonymous online? To find out, I performed extensive tests on all its features and explored its updated privacy policy. I also checked out several connection issues customers have rep...

    Excellent value for money!

First, it's a full VPN. Very intuitive and easy app. Lots of connection options and without much loss ... of speed. The official website has the payment method in my local currency, with a localized value and thus leaving a fair value through the VPN. Thank VPNMentor for the product recommendation and targeted discount.More

Final Verdict I will not recommend Private WiFi’s services. While it offers outstanding security protocols and encryption, it does not provide the best value for the money you pay. Unlike its competitors, you do not get everything a standard VPN offers. It has inconsistent unblocking abilities, unreliable speeds, no kill-switch, no P2P support, and most importantly, this VPN is under the 5-Eyes surveillance. It is also costly for the features it offers, and further modifications, such as more servers in every location to decrease the traffic load, are needed. With the security protocols it offers, this VPN is only suitable for quick use, like accessing your bank sites on public WiFi. I would recommend considering these VPNs with robust security features as an alternative. I was, however, impressed by its customer support’s fast responses. So far, its responsive customer service is one of the few selling points it offers. Still,
