How to Cancel StrongVPN and Get a Refund - 2024 Update

Kristina Perunicic Updated on 29th November 2023 Managing Editor

StrongVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. We put it to the test.

We were happy to see that even though we purchased StrongVPN's cheapest plan, it was easy to close our account and claim a full refund.

If you're looking for an alternative provider, check out ExpressVPN. It can unblock 400+ streaming services including Netflix, offers top-of-the-range security, and supports P2P connections. Plus, you can even try it out risk-free; if you don’t like it, you have up to 30 days to request a refund.

How to Cancel StrongVPN: Quick Guide

  1. Contact StrongVPN Live Help and request a cancellation and refund.
  2. Click on the link sent to you by Live Help and log in to your account to cancel your subscription.
  3. Make sure to cancel any upcoming payments with your payment provider.

Canceling StrongVPN in 7 Easy Steps

There’s no automatic way to cancel your StrongVPN account and ask for your money back. You will need to contact the VPN’s Live Help support team first.

After that though, the process is simple and you can expect to receive your refund very quickly.

Here are the steps you’ll need to follow:

Step 1

Log in to your StrongVPN account and access Live Help. Once you’re connected to a chat, request a cancellation and refund.

Note: Customer support will ask why you want to cancel so you’ll need to provide a reason. They will then send you a cancellation link.

Step 2

Click on the link and enter your login details.

Step 3

Check the box next to the subscription you wish to cancel. As directed in the Live Chat, make sure to select the option that says ‘Now’ to include a refund request.

If you select ‘On renewal date’, your subscription will be canceled but you will not receive a refund.

Step 4

You will be asked if you are sure you want to cancel. Scroll down and click ‘I don’t want to protect my privacy’.

Step 5

Select the reason you wish to cancel. In the box titled ‘Is there anything else you would like to tell us?’ write a comment of at least 10 characters.

Step 6

You will be offered 60 days of free service. If you want to continue with the cancellation, click ‘I still want to cancel.’

Step 7

You’re all done! You’ll be shown a confirmation screen so you can track your refund request.

We received our refund within a couple of minutes.

This is noteworthy, particularly when you consider that refunds from other VPN services typically require 7-10 business days.

I Canceled My Subscription - Now What?

If you canceled your subscription with StrongVPN because you were concerned about its base in a 5-Eyes Alliance country, there are plenty of more secure VPNs you can choose from.

ExpressVPN is our top recommendation. It is based in The British Virgin Islands, so you can rely on its strict no-logs policy to keep your data genuinely private.

For individuals seeking a StrongVPN alternative, ExpressVPN is an excellent option, particularly in regions like China, as it provides reliable access in this location. Additionally, the VPN can successfully unblock Netflix US and Hulu, enabling you to enjoy your preferred content without restrictions. ExpressVPN also boasts lightning-fast speeds suitable for streaming and ensures military-grade security measures to protect your online activities.

Like StrongVPN, ExpressVPN also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee so you can make sure it’s the right VPN for you.

Getting your money back is easy too, so you can trial the service and ask for a refund if it’s not for you. Find out more in our simple guide to canceling your ExpressVPN account and requesting a refund.

Time for a New VPN

You might have clicked ‘I don’t want to protect my privacy’ as you canceled StrongVPN, but we're sure that’s not true!

If you would like to try ExpressVPN, make sure you make the most of these amazing offers instead of paying full price.

Not convinced? You can also take a look at our list of other great VPNs that work with Netflix.
