CyberGhost VPN vs VPN Unlimited 2022

After comparing these VPNs, we have a winner!

Which VPN is better?

CyberGhost and Keepsolid VPN Unlimited have a lot in common, but a closer look reveals some crucial differences.

CyberGhost has a well-written, strict no-logs policy — plus, it’s headquartered in Romania, which is great news for users. The same can’t be said about VPN Unlimited, as it operates out of New York in the United States. This puts it right in the heart of the Five Eyes, and the sketchy privacy policy doesn’t help its case.

Performance also varies between the two VPNs. Despite its decent network of 400+ servers in over 70 countries and the KeepSolid Wise obfuscation, VPN Unlimited is a bit sluggish and won’t grant you access to popular platforms like Netflix.

CyberGhost, on the other hand, has a dedicated profile for streaming, along with premade settings that save you a great deal of time and effort. It also works reliably in censorship-heavy locations like China.

Both VPNs have apps for all major platforms and provide OpenVPN config files for mobile. However, with VPN Unlimited you only get the latter if you subscribe for a year or longer. CyberGhost doesn’t have that problem.

Lastly, CyberGhost gives you ample time to try the VPN out with a 30-day money-back guarantee. VPN Unlimited has a noticeably shorter refund window of seven days.

CyberGhost is one of the most affordable VPNs on the market — you can get a subscription for as low as $2.15/month. But as is the case with so many cheap VPNs, you get what you pay for. So I wanted to see whether this VPN can really deliver at such a low price. I did a deep dive into CyberGhost’s privacy policy and security measures to determine whether it’s secure enough to recommend. I ...

Easy, inexpensive, and it works

Absolutely should not be overlooked as a competitor to express or pia... ghost is simple, effective, h... as all the right features with no filler, they definitely took into consideration all of the annoying flaws of some of the others out there.... just my opinion. Ghost works. I play online games, stream, run discord (yes I know not very demanding), and I have not noticed a difference in ping times to servers, nor have I suffered any dropped packets, etc.. while streaming. overall, a definite 5* from me. Booting and Internet Speed

Hi, I am so far satisfied with the service. But it makes my computer booting process slow. The connect... ion time is getting longer for whatever reason. I would suggest it to a friend too. But something must be done against the speed reduction of the internet as well as for the computer booting process.More

VPN Unlimited is headquartered in New York and is the subsidiary of KeepSolid. While the fact that VPN Unlimited is US-based in New York does not thrill us (as opposed to, say, ExpressVPN, which runs out of the British Virgin Islands) VPN Unlimited provides users with a solid VPN service. With its server locations and data centers in more than 39 countries and 50 regions respectively, VPN Unli...

Terrific VPN

I have had no problem with them. I am not sure why the article states that Mac and iOS users do not ha... ve all of the protocols listed above that are available only for other platforms. I have used a number of them for over a year, and as of this writing just double-checked my available protocols and all of the above are available to me on all of my platforms. I have never had any issues with streaming, or any other data-heavy task. I have a lifetime membership with them which I purchased with a promo over a year ago, and I have been enjoying it on all of my devices. Yes, I can purchase other options like the personal IP and what not, but so far I have not needed to. I love their service and if you can get in on one of their promos (this one was offered through PC Mag) for a lifetime membership, do so!More

Best VPNs by category

The transparent privacy policy, favorable location, and excellent performance work heavily in CyberGhost’s favor. VPN Unlimited is a polished VPN on the outside, but it cuts some corners in rather important areas.

While VPN Unlimited allows P2P in theory, its stance on torrents is ambiguous, if not outright prohibitive. CyberGhost makes it clear that you can use it in tandem with BitTorrent clients.

Thanks to the preconfigured profiles, stealth protocols, and security features, CyberGhost is a superb VPN for Windows. VPN Unlimited’s highlights include Keepsolid Wise obfuscation and optional extras like Static IP or extra simultaneous connections — however, you’ll have to pay extra for those.

Few VPNs are as consistent as CyberGhost when it comes to transferring all the performance and utility to mobile. Its Android app is just as good as the Windows one. VPN Unlimited does a good job as well, but doesn’t offer as much on Android.

CyberGhost isn’t as feature-packed on Mac, but it still offers a ton of great features, including the handy profile-based interface. VPN Unlimited has its own standalone Mac app with a kill switch included.

VPN Unlimited’s iOS app is solid, but OpenVPN config files aren’t available with the monthly plan an you can only connect up to five devices simultaneously. CyberGhost has an impressive iOS client similar to the Android one, and users with multiple devices will find the seven simultaneous connections very useful.

With 376 servers in the United States alone, CyberGhost trumps the competition. It also helps with accessing geoblocked US streams like Netflix. VPN Unlimited is great for basic unblocking, but performance varies from server to server.

The Bottom Line

All things considered, CyberGhost gives you more utility for its cost. VPN Unlimited is in the same price range, but its monthly plan comes with some hidden drawbacks. It’s still a decent VPN, but if you want to get the most out of it, you’ll have to pay extra for valuable addons. With CyberGhost, what you see is what you get — spotless privacy, great features, and an intuitive interface. It’s ideal for novice and expert users alike.
