CyberGhost and Keepsolid VPN Unlimited have a lot in common, but a closer look reveals some crucial differences.

CyberGhost has a well-written, strict no-logs policy — plus, it’s headquartered in Romania, which is great news for users. The same can’t be said about VPN Unlimited, as it operates out of New York in the United States. This puts it right in the heart of the Five Eyes, and the sketchy privacy policy doesn’t help its case.

Performance also varies between the two VPNs. Despite its decent network of 400+ servers in over 70 countries and the KeepSolid Wise obfuscation, VPN Unlimited is a bit sluggish and won’t grant you access to popular platforms like Netflix.

CyberGhost, on the other hand, has a dedicated profile for streaming, along with premade settings that save you a great deal of time and effort. It also works reliably in censorship-heavy locations like China.

Both VPNs have apps for all major platforms and provide OpenVPN config files for mobile. However, with VPN Unlimited you only get the latter if you subscribe for a year or longer. CyberGhost doesn’t have that problem.

Lastly, CyberGhost gives you ample time to try the VPN out with a 30-day money-back guarantee. VPN Unlimited has a noticeably shorter refund window of seven days.

CyberGhost is one of the most affordable VPNs on the market — you can get a subscription for as low as $2.03/month. I sometimes assume that price indicates quality, but with VPNs, I've been proven wrong before. So I wanted to see whether CyberGhost can really deliver at such a low price. I did a deep dive into CyberGhost’s privacy policy and security measures to determine whether it’s secu...

    Simple To Use

Great interface and is very intuitive. Many locations with reasonably fast speeds. There are a lot of ... essential features I like as well. Wireguard, Wifi Protect, Etc. I took out the 2-year plan at a fair discount so I can say that, given the price, it's a decent balance of quantity and quality.More

    Pretty good

CyberGhost does not connect automatically in pc when I connect online. Why? And on my phone (Android)...  it sometimes gets stuck, it does not open the app when vpn is working. I have to connect the VPN in my phone settings first. That is pretty annoying.More

VPN Unlimited comes across as a very capable VPN, with its main focus being unblocking multiple streaming sites. I wanted to see if it delivered on this promise, and to test whether its security, privacy, and customer service stacks up against the best VPNs in the industry. While it certainly delivered on some of its assertions, unfortunately, it fell short in some essential areas. It unblocke...

    Very Happy with Lifetime license

I picked up a lifetime license and honestly, it's been "solid". It delivers at good speeds, no leaks ... so far have been detected. Offers a wide range of streaming options & Protocols. I've contacted customer service several times and received replies quickly. The servers for P2p are limited to three locations but are still very functional. I'd appreciate a public audit of how secure the service is but it seems none of this info is published for customers, or potential customers to view.More

    Definitely honey pot

Stay away, none of streaming services mentioned works, support may be courteous but will not solve pro... blems. Netflix, Hulu, Amazon and others may work for a while but eventually your data will be sold to requesting parties and you get blocked.More

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

The transparent privacy policy, favorable location, and excellent performance work heavily in CyberGhost’s favor. VPN Unlimited is a polished VPN on the outside, but it cuts some corners in rather important areas.

    Best VPN for Torrents

While VPN Unlimited allows P2P in theory, its stance on torrents is ambiguous, if not outright prohibitive. CyberGhost makes it clear that you can use it in tandem with BitTorrent clients.

    Best VPN for Windows

Thanks to the preconfigured profiles, stealth protocols, and security features, CyberGhost is a superb VPN for Windows. VPN Unlimited’s highlights include Keepsolid Wise obfuscation and optional extras like Static IP or extra simultaneous connections — however, you’ll have to pay extra for those.

    Best VPN for Android

Few VPNs are as consistent as CyberGhost when it comes to transferring all the performance and utility to mobile. Its Android app is just as good as the Windows one. VPN Unlimited does a good job as well, but doesn’t offer as much on Android.

    Best VPN for Mac

CyberGhost isn’t as feature-packed on Mac, but it still offers a ton of great features, including the handy profile-based interface. VPN Unlimited has its own standalone Mac app with a kill switch included.

    Best VPN for iOS

VPN Unlimited’s iOS app is solid, but OpenVPN config files aren’t available with the monthly plan an you can only connect up to five devices simultaneously. CyberGhost has an impressive iOS client similar to the Android one, and users with multiple devices will find the seven simultaneous connections very useful.

    Best VPN for USA

With 376 servers in the United States alone, CyberGhost trumps the competition. It also helps with accessing geoblocked US streams like Netflix. VPN Unlimited is great for basic unblocking, but performance varies from server to server.

    The Bottom Line

All things considered, CyberGhost gives you more utility for its cost. VPN Unlimited is in the same price range, but its monthly plan comes with some hidden drawbacks. It’s still a decent VPN, but if you want to get the most out of it, you’ll have to pay extra for valuable addons. With CyberGhost, what you see is what you get — spotless privacy, great features, and an intuitive interface. It’s ideal for novice and expert users alike.
