Two great high performance VPN options here from AirVPN and IVPN, both carry a good level of service configurability with high security levels for your privacy needs. IVPN has an edge on service configuration by supporting both SSL and SSH tunneling protocols while either option covers Multihop and port 443 over TCP. IVPN has the lead in obfuscation support and will work more reliably in China as a result, with AirVPN lagging a bit behind in this department. Either option carries a strict no logging policy on activity and traffic and thus offers a similar level of service and peace of mind. Both are high speed VPNs, which is good news for video streaming services like Netflix, and the encryption/obfuscation will get you through any regional firewalling issues. AirVPN and IVPN allow the same number of simultaneous connections so they're both great for multiple device connectivity over one VPN. Various payment methods are available including Bitcoin and anonymous email support. While AirVPN is slightly more expensive per month than IVPN, the higher price point comes with a longer refund window. IVPN makes things a little easier from the get go by providing live online support chat, as well as a kill-switch.

AirVPN is a reliable, budget-friendly VPN with high-end security features. It offers unlimited bandwidth on 240+ servers across 20 countries. Let’s take an in-depth look at its features and policies to find out if this is the best VPN for you. AirVPN does work with Netflix, but it's not quite the seamless streaming experience we'd hoped for, with slow speeds and ads. If you want speedy, uni...

Reliable and secure global VPN

Just signed up for 2 more years with AirVPN. Yes, there are other higher-rated services, but AirVPN al... ways works perfectly and is reasonably priced. I run it on Windows, Linux, and OSX, which does limit the contenders. The main usage is secure browsing when traveling and file transfer. I like that it uses OpenVPN and also that it is NOT at the top of the list. OpenVPN is very secure and with a lower rating is unlikely to be a hacking / DOS/government target. I could go on about great AirVPN is, but really, it would be like telling you how much I like my water or electricity utility. It just works and I don't think about it more than once every two years when I need to renew my subscription.More

Very bad performance

AirVPN is by far the slowest VPN I have ever used. Whichever protocol and/or server I have used, it di... dn't make any difference. My internet speed decreased by over 90%, download speed as well as upload speed. When you take a look at the AirVPN forum, you will notice loads of users are experiencing the same issue, for which AirVPN obviously has no solutions.More

Established in Gibraltar in 2009, IVPN is focused on security, privacy, and standing against surveillance marketing tactics. I’d say this is a perfect VPN for enthusiastic privacy beginners — no leaks, no logs, you don't even need to submit your email address to sign up. IVPN is not great for streaming, but Peacock TV is available from the US servers. You should get a premium VPN that excel...

Very fast connections and transparent privacy policy

Have been using IVPN for a number of months now and the client interface is very simple and easy to us... e and having the built-in firewall options (that can be changed by the user) is an absolute must if you want to completely protect your internet connection from dropouts and having the firewall options are better than just a standard kill switch. Location connections are very FAST (best I have seen anywhere) and while there are not a lot of locations to choose from the current number at 20 has been sufficient in the most important countries. Their privacy policy is more transparent than any I have found and being based in Gibraltar appears to be a very good location in most respects, although not perfect. Only negatives right now would be two (2) bugs in the client where switching and/or scrolling for locations have resulted in the client window freezing up (with a spinning "beach ball" on my Mac) and have to logout in order to get out of the frozen window. The other bug is where "Diagnostics Logs" cannot be sent from the client interface due to a popup error message and the log files cannot be sent. Have already reported both issues to customer support and they are now working on a fix as there also is another reviewer (at another site) that has confirmed the same freezing client on a Windows computer. Looks like the issues have to be addressed on IVPN's end as they cannot be corrected by the user. Although IVPN does not receive nearly as many reviews as the other more popular VPN's (since this could be on account of the somewhat higher yearly cost) it offers great speed and features and have yet to find another VPN that compares as favorably. IVPN Trial is a scam

Beware of the trial period scam. Even after logging out and uninstalling the VPN client, you are unab... le to cancel the trial before your credit card is charged. We attempted to contact IVPN via several means, but they have failed to respond. Now we will have to dispute the charges through our credit card provider. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!More

It's safe to say that both AirVPN and IVPN are great solutions, but there can be only one winner. After extensive checks and investigations, our analysis shows AirVPN to be the clear victor. Point-for-point on features, pricing, ease of use and reliability, AirVPN comes out on top. This come down to a key number of benefits starting with coverage, AirVPN covers more countries with a higher server density, providing you with a reliable and fast solution. If you're looking for regionally diverse accessibility, then AirVPN is the better option with higher country coverage, a greater number of servers and Linux support. Add to that a clear price point advantage and greater flexibility in service configuration, and AirVPN is definitely the better option of the two.
