AirVPN and StrongVPN are two popular VPN providers with very different key offerings. While StrongVPN offers around 950 servers in 30 countries, AirVPN has only about 246 servers in 23 countries and it's less reliable in unblocking streaming services. While both VPNs support the OpenVPN encryption protocol, only StrongVPN also provides support for the L2TP, SSTP, IPSec, and IKEv2 protocols. In terms of dedicated apps, both VPNs have apps for macOS, Windows, and Android, but you’ll only find an iOS app with StrongVPN. If you ever encounter any challenges with either of these VPNs, AirVPN handles inquiries via email and web forms, whereas StrongVPN offers a 24/7 live chat system. These two VPNs have a few things in common, however. They both use 256-bit encryption across their networks and offer protection from leaks and tracking. See our more detailed review below to help you decide which VPN is better.

StrongVPN is one of the oldest VPNs, and many people praise it. However, its monthly plans don't offer a money-back guarantee, and you may find it too expensive if you only need a VPN for a short time. To determine whether it's worth the yearly commitment, I tested every aspect of StrongVPN, including speed, security features, and a thorough investigation of its privacy policy. Overall, I can...

Greetings, I have no complaints about Strong VPN no problem with payment of Canadian credit cards r... eliable service trustworthy security when connected. I don't know why there is so much negative feedback I'm just very lucky and no I'm not a lucky Irish man. Great price I pay $4.99 monthly support is great speeds are great and their encryption is very secure, I always check if my DNS if are leaked, and they always pass and check my speeds which are good. I know when connected with Strong VPN I can trust that I'm safe and secure with them.More

I have an active subscription that I've paid for it and expect to get full support and service for it! It's very unprofessional and unacceptable to do this to user which have active subscription already!More

AirVPN is a budget-friendly option that claims to provide robust protection against online threats. Plus, it says it offers high-performance servers. But can it really rival the top VPNs, or is the price so low because it’s not that good? After testing all its features, I found that AirVPN is secure, but it can't match the best VPNs. It has many great security features, solid speeds and works...

I am AirVpn cusomers since 2015, and on my gear works remarkably well

I am working in the biggest country in Asia since 2006. I constantly use AirVpn on my MacBook Pro sinc... e 2015, and on my iPhone - iPad. I never had an issue, of any kind, with it, and I was quite amazed to read the article above. Lately, it is very difficult to get it properly run on iPhone and iPad, but this is more the result of this country where I live in restrictions than the vpn in itself. While in Hong Kong was still working fine, but as soon as I crossed the border troubles started. I will tweak that as soon as I will be out again. In the rest of the world, I never had issues. So I do not give the 5th star just because of my at present troubles using it on my iPhone and iPad. For the rest, I will stick with it.More

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

The size of StrongVPN’s network, the easy-to-use and intuitive apps, and the provider’s support for more simultaneous connections add up to a more robust service than AirVPN provides. AirVPN is also a good VPN provider with a commendable focus on security. Its main drawbacks are the absence of an iOS app and the cluttered apps, which are more suited for superusers.

    Best VPN for Torrents

Both VPNs allow torrenting on their servers but AirVPN takes the win here because it supports port forwarding, which helps with getting better speeds for downloads. StrongVPN provides an unrestricted and secure service for downloading torrents but doesn't offer port forwarding. However, it's speeds are fast, especially on nearby servers.

    Best VPN for Windows

StrongVPN provides a better app for Windows with access to its entire network of 950 servers, 256-bit encryption, and support for multiple encryption protocols. Meanwhile, AirVPN's Windows app has been flagged by a VirusTotal test for having malware. Although it might be a false positive, it's still better to be safe.

    Best VPN for Android

StrongVPN is the better choice for Android users as it offers a dedicated app that includes split tunneling, and robust protocols (OpenVPN, WireGuard, and IKEv2), along with a feature that selects the best server closest to your location automatically. Meanwhile, AirVPN's Android app doesn't have the most straightforward interface and server names, which makes finding your desired server unnecessarily difficult.

    Best VPN for Mac

Strong encryption, access to 950 servers, and support for the WireGuard, OpenVPN, IPSec, and IKEv2 protocols are some of the reasons why StrongVPN is a better VPN choice for macOS. Its macOS app also features a neatly designed layout and a Scramble feature for disguising your VPN traffic to look like regular traffic. AirVPN has a dedicated macOS app but its interface looks more complicated and too cluttered, especially for VPN beginners.

    Best VPN for iOS

StrongVPN provides an attractive service for iOS, with access to its knowledge base and live chat directly from the app. Although you won’t find a dedicated iOS app from AirVPN, you can easily set it up on your devices using the OpenVPN app and still enjoy strong encryption and access to all the provider’s servers. However, it's not worth the hassle, as you can simply download the native StrongVPN app instead.

    Best VPN for USA

StrongVPN is great for accessing US content like US Netflix and Hulu. It also has good speeds, and servers in over 15 locations in the US. AirVPN has a decent selection of US locations (37), considering the size of its network. However, it's not reliable for streaming US content.

    The Bottom Line

StrongVPN has improved its service over the years to now include very smooth apps for all major desktop and mobile platforms, which is not the case with AirVPN. StrongVPN also offers over twice as many servers as AirVPN and is more effective for bypassing geoblocks. These service improvements in recent years alone would be enough for StrongVPN to come out on top in this contest. Yet StrongVPN goes further with support for up to 12 simultaneous connections, a 30-day money-back guarantee, and live chat support. We still see StrongVPN as a mid-level VPN service overall, but it is on the rise.
