Astrill VPN and Trust.Zone are among the most popular VPNs on the market, trusted for the way they prioritize security across all platforms. Unlimited bandwidth, 256-bit encryption, and P2P are all provided by these two VPNs. Both Astrill and Trust.Zone also provide protection from tracking and public wi-fi hacking. In addition, both offer a kill switch and support for multiple encryption protocols, including OpenVPN and L2TP across all platforms. Astrill offers a Stealth VPN protocol and split tunneling across all its apps, features you won’t get with Trust.Zone. Also, Trust.Zone only provides a dedicated app for Windows, while Astrill offers apps for Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android. Nevertheless, Trust.Zone can easily be integrated across all platforms either manually or via the universal OpenVPN app. In terms of network sizes, Trust.Zone offers around 164 servers in 32 countries, while Astril provides over 300 in 63 countries. These two VPNs also reliably unblock US Netflix and similar geoblocked media sites, although Trust.Zone’s superior speed is worth noting. Read on as we compare these two providers across multiple categories to help you pick out which is better for you.

Trust.Zone VPN states it has dedicated itself to customer privacy since it launched in 2014. Based in the Seychelles and using watertight privacy protocols, such as a no logs policy and an active warrant canary, it certainly lives up to its mission statement. Although there is no doubt that its security and privacy features are strong, I was disappointed to find that it struggled to unblock mo...

6 years with TZ and no real complaints

What to say about Trust Zone? Well, for $39.95 for a year compared to the next 'recommended' VPN comp... any at more than double that I can't see a good reason to leave Trust Zone, at all! Issues - It's literally only been this year that I've been experiencing problems, support has always gotten back to me within about 48hrs, not on weekends or evenings, which could be a potential problem. However, I've always been able to follow their instructions and fixed any errors that have occurred, uninstalling and reinstalling are simple and I've found that fixed any seemingly annoying problem, and it doesn't take more than 5mins to do that! Sometimes (I used UK servers mostly, based there) the server can get a little slow, or seem to stop, but I just flick over to another UK server or Germany is another fave and no more problem for 99% of the time I've ever had any issues. Benefits - For the price Trust Zone VPN is 'IMHO' truly great value for money and the privacy and security could be no better from everything that I've read, even on here. I bought Nord VPN yesterday as I was getting connectivity issues and wanted to see if it was TZ, it wasn't and now I've got to wait a week for my refund from Nord VPN, I wasn't impressed at all and it wouldn't connect properly and my speeds were truly terrible! This was on the supposed fast server for what I was using, I couldn't use my fave 'app' shall we say, and when it did connect I didn't get more than just under 2mbps and I have over 70mbps on my line and that will be going to a Gig soon, can't wait! The UK is so far behind where I lived in S.E Asia for 17yrs, that it's almost laughable, but it isn't is it! 1st world England, I think not! Lulz. I hope that TZ can sort out their server maintenance and inform the users of when it's being done, or a symbol next to the server(s) would be a nice touch to let us know that it's being worked on, etc. All in all, from the abysmal Nord VPN experience I had yesterday, all evening trying to get it to work, paying more certainly doesn't mean better in my years of computer and internet experience, and most recently been proven right yet again! Last hint and tip, never connect to the internet without a VPN. Good luck out there all. Wendy.More

Astrill’s marketing team does a great job of advertising it as one of the best VPNs out there, especially in China — but are they telling the truth about how good it is? I tested every feature and analyzed its privacy policies and security measures to see if it’s good enough to recommend. I also paid attention to its server network, speeds, torrenting support, gaming, streaming and final...

Been using it for a long time.. but have to go

I have been using Astrill for more than 10 years. Never had a problem. A couple of times I used the ch... at for support and it was excellent. However this is probably going to be my last year. Reason .... price. With the virus crisis I am unemployed and can not afford it. They do not give any kind of discount and keep raising the price year after year. I am not in China so I suspend it, I do not need all those features.More

    Best VPN by category

Trust.Zone is an exceptionally reliable provider with a consistent track record for delivering a very secure VPN service and maintaining a strict no-logs policy. Astrill, on the other hand, delivers a feature-packed service with user-friendly apps for all major platforms and a fairly large network.

A transparent no-logs policy and dedicated high-speed P2P servers are some of the main reasons we recommend Trust.Zone if you need to torrent anonymously. Astrill also supports torrenting with dedicated P2P servers but has a less favorable privacy policy for torrent users.

Trust.Zone offers an app for Windows that gives you access to dedicated IP addresses for streaming, as well as support for the OpenVPN and L2TP encryption protocols. Astrill also provides a reliable service for Windows, with a dedicated app with Stealth VPN, split tunneling, and Onion over VPN.

Trust.Zone can be easily configured onto Android devices via the universal OpenVPN app. It features protection from tracking and strong encryption. The best feature of Astrill’s native Android app is its Smart Mode, which allows you to specify which apps or traffic types should connect via the VPN tunnel.

Trust.Zone can be manually integrated into MacOS devices using the built-in Mac VPN tool. It features privacy protection via strong 256-bit encryption and tracking prevention. With Astrill, you get an intuitive MacOS app that includes a Stealth VPN protocol, split tunneling, and a dedicated streaming feature.

Trust.Zone allows three simultaneous connections per subscriber and can be manually configured on iOS devices via the VPN tool. It features tracking and wi-fi protection as well as 256-bit encryption. Astrill competes with a user-friendly app for iOS with a smart mode that allows you to specify which traffic goes through the VPN.

Trust.Zone provides one of the best services available for bypassing geoblocks on American platforms like Netflix and Hulu. Meanwhile, Astrill provides a dedicated streaming feature that allows you to unblock Netflix-US and a host of other American websites at the touch of a button.

    The Bottom Line

Although Trust.Zone offers no mobile apps and may be less user-friendly for VPN newbies, its prioritization of security, consistent high speeds, and transparent no-logs policy make it the winner of this contest. Trust.Zone could certainly make improvements, especially by providing dedicated mobile and MacOS apps, but this shortcoming is largely offset by the VPN’s easy manual configuration and very budget-friendly subscription prices. However, if you need a VPN that works in China, Astrill is the clear choice, since Trust.Zone can’t get past China’s Great Firewall of censorship.

Time to decide which one is best for you

Is Trust.Zone better than Astrill VPN?

Yes, Trust.Zone is better overall than Astrill VPN. It has 180 servers in 97 countries, fast speeds, and impressive security features.

What should I keep in mind when choosing between Trust.Zone and Astrill VPN?

When choosing a VPN, you want to pay close attention to its number of servers, overall speed score, pricing, and the number of simultaneous device connections it offers. While some VPNs provide a flawless online experience, others will really slow you down.

If you’re ready to commit, then Trust.Zone may be perfect for you due to its performance during the tests .

Is Trust.Zone faster than Astrill VPN?

Yes, Trust.Zone is faster than Astrill VPN. Since your VPN is your computer’s main connection to the internet, you need to use a service that won’t slow you down by more than 20%.

If speeds are important to you, then I recommend you take a look at ExpressVPN. It’s the fastest service out there, provides unlimited bandwidth, and you won’t experience any slowdowns even when you connect to the other side of the planet. You can try it out risk-free. It’s backed by a 30-day money-back guarantee, so you can get a full refund if you don’t like it.

Do Trust.Zone or Astrill VPN offer any deals?

Both Trust.Zone and Astrill VPN offer deals on occasion. You can check out the current coupons and discounts here. However, ExpressVPN has the best deals. Right now, you can get a 49% discount and up to 3 months for free with a new subscription.
