Two popular VPN service providers going great guns in the market are NordVPN and BTGuard VPN. Both have great features like no logging, so that there is no possibility of your web activities being traced. Other common features include payment options like Bitcoin and Paypal, no traffic restrictions with unlimited bandwidth, multiple locations, fairly easy set-up and good encryption. While BTGuard offers access to high-speed entertainment and movie content via Torrents, NordVPN offers the latest movies and entertainment via Netflix at blazing speeds. While in terms of price, BTGuard VPN is definitely the cheaper option, the area where Nord really shines is the additional built-in features it offers its users. In terms of compatibility, both are even, as they both support multiple devices and work on a variety of platforms. BTGuard does not have dedicated servers, something that Nord offers its users. While BTGuard offers decent speeds (it tends to dip at times), Nord offers consistently high speeds.

On the surface, NordVPN looks like a really impressive service. It claims to have a huge global server network, a speedy and reliable connection, and iron-clad security and privacy features. Plus, you can get it all for just $3.09/month. That all sounds great, but is there a catch? To find out, I did an in-depth analysis of NordVPN. I tested its speeds and how well it performs when you’re str...

    The Best of The Best

I simply tested all VPNs looking for cutting-edge online security, I tested the most expensive and the...  most talked about virtual anonymity, none made me as happy as NordVPN, it stands out for several reasons that the much more expensive ones it doesn't have, its double encryption, dedicated IPs, onion VPN, makes NordVPN unique, with almost 6,000 servers around the world and 12 million customers like me, you can see that NordVPN is not playing games with its customers and their online security , it always innovates to keep you more secure day after day, for a fair price in the long term and without sacrificing the speed of your connection, recently Nord is developing a new VPN protocol, Nordlynx a version still under construction derived from the Wireguard protocol, if you want to have a VPN of last security that think how it will make you more secure in the next month NordVPN is the right choice, I am completely thankful for being a customer and for finding what to me is the perfect VPN.More

    BUYER BEWARE!

BUYER BEWARE! If you purchase NordVPN, it will throttle your interned speed/connectivity by 50%, like ... it did to mine. I pay $100/month to get speeds of nearly 600mbs. With NordVPN turned on, my speeds decrease to 250mbs. Nord’s “customer support” is useless and unprofessional, and, after nearly 3 weeks of endless “try this, try that”, they were unable to resolve the issue and blamed it on everything under the sun except their product, when it is OBVIOUS that, since I have zero speed issues with Nord turned off, and ONLY experience the issues with Nord turned on, it is NordVPN that is causing the issue. When I asked them for a refund of my one year subscription paid in advance and in good faith, they refused, and have now decided to ignore me. So, YOU’VE BEEN WARNED. Their VPN will devastate your internet speeds, their “support” is ridiculous, they are in denial, and they will not refund your money, even if their product is a failure…More

BitTorrentGuard — aka BTGuard — is a VPN and BitTorrent proxy provider. It is specifically designed for P2P fans at a time when most tiptoe around the subject of torrenting. You can use it on as many computers as you like without worrying about bandwidth, which is great for file sharing. Another significant aspect of the VPN is that its speeds are consistent. However, it does have some drawba...

    Works for me for years

Not sure why seen so much bad feedback here. Using BTGuard for more than 8 years. I ran into problems ... about 3 times. Figured out it was a software upgrade. Following their setup instructions for PCs/Linux phones works.More

    Terrible customer service

I used them for several years without too many problems beyond when I actually had a question I needed...  to be answered by this outfit they never bothered to respond to my emails. One day, while connected to BTGuard, my IP was leaked to my ISP and I received a notice from Cox that I was in violation of their user agreement. I questioned BTGuard about this and I was immediately suspended and my account was closed. What the hell kind of treatment is this? And of course, they didn't bother to respond to my question as to why on earth I was suspended. At this point, I moved to TorGuard and never looked back. I've used TorGuard for 7 years. They offer a reasonable price and excellent service and outstanding customer support. I see BTGuard is still in business despite their lousy customer service and their limited functionality as discussed by the author of this article and there don't care attitude about their customers. Makes me wonder how they have any.More

    The Bottom Line

So while both Nord and BTGuard are great VPN platforms to use for gaining access to otherwise inaccessible websites across the world, Nord is the clear winner. Some of the areas where Nord comes out ahead are: 24/7 live customer service (something which BTguard lacks) and a kill switch that is extremely handy when surfing websites that could trace your IP address in case the connection is dropped. Btguard unfortunately lacks in this crucial bit of security. Nord also offers a 30 day money back guarantee, something which BTguard does not offer. They also do not have a trial period. Overall NordVPN comes out way ahead of BTGuard in terms of offering better features and value for money.
