Security is the top focus for both ExpressVPN and Kaspersky Secure Connection, with ExpressVPN shining with a large server network and Kaspersky with its free antivirus tools. ExpressVPN is a leading VPN provider because it keeps your connection safe with military-grade protection, split tunneling, kill switches, and lighting fast speeds. It is located in the British Virgin Islands, so your data is secure and won’t be shared. Kaspersky Secure Connection is built on the company's strong security foundation and delivers premium protections that are leak and virus free. Its downsides include reported trouble accessing Netflix, no kill switch, and OpenVPN only available on Windows, Android, Mac, and iOS. While the Russia-based service says it doesn’t log your behaviors, its usage agreement notes that it may turn over information to authorities. Read on below to learn more about these two VPN providers.

ExpressVPN is one of the safest, fastest VPNs around, but the one drawback has always been the price. It often offers discounts that make it more affordable, but there are other decent VPNs offering similar security features for much cheaper. So, do you really need to pay so much for a VPN as good as ExpressVPN? To find the answer, I performed extensive tests on desktop and mobile devices run...

As a VPN from a leading cybersecurity company, you’d expect Kaspersky Secure Connection to be of a high standard. But its privacy policy has always concerned me because of its suspicious connections with the Russian FBS. Also, the US government has banned the use of Kaspersky software within its factions, which raises further concerns. After conducting my testing and research, I can say that...

BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK

Very Good Deal pricing wise, very simple to operate, love the KILL SWITCH option, which protects you f... rom KSC loss while online, and protects; banking, bitcoin, ethereal, litecoin, B2B, etc. Only two drawbacks witnessed are; sometimes there's the slowness with throughput or latency with the limited amount of servers/growing popularity AND you have to manually update to new improve releases/versions (wish KSC was auto-update or at least notified you when a new version is available.More

Uninstalling it- Webmail Problems

Going to uninstall it. Have used Kaspersky KIS for years. However, the VPN product made my webmail wit... h Earthlink inoperable. Not all the time but enough that I would go a couple of days trying to retrieve my email before I realized that VPN has come back on with start-up. I usually turn it off because of problems. Only had about a month but would not recommend it. A lot of time wasted and frustration blaming my ISP for problems caused by Kaspersky VPN. Not ready for prime time.More

Best VPNs by category

Setting up ExpressVPN is simple for every platform and browser extension. ExpressVPN gives you military-grade encryption, kill switches, automatic settings for the best protocols, and an almost unmatched ability to get around geoblocks. Kaspersky Secure Connection is a high-quality choice for users who want protection against malware above all else. It's very affordable, but comes with some limitations in torrenting, server location, and streaming popular content.

The Kaspersky VPN warns you that torrenting violates its terms of service if local laws prohibit torrenting. Plus, it does not offer a kill switch. ExpressVPN, on the other hand, allows torrenting on more than 3,000 servers in 94 countries.

The Windows client delivers on Kaspersky's solid security service, with reports that premium upgrades are worth the price. ExpressVPN also provides a quick and easy installation, automatically recommends the safest protocols and servers, and has leading customer support available 24/7.

Android support is a limited area for each of these VPNs. ExpressVPN gives you a quality app with some powerful encryption and access to its broad set of servers, but does not provide all of the security features available on its desktop client. Kaspersky Secure Connection minimizes ads, protects data, and offers parental controls for your family. It should be noted that the free app limits data and removes the ability to choose a country server.

ExpressVPN provides some of the fastest VPN speeds available and makes it easy to bypass geoblocks for Netflix, even in China. ExpressVPN offers all of this with a generous 30-day money-back guarantee. The Mac client for Kaspersky Secure Connection is easy to operate with cutting-edge security protocols and encryption. But, many recent reviews say users are having difficulty connecting to the service.

The free 7-day trial makes the iOS option for Kaspersky Secure Connection a smart way to test its wi-fi protection and if your connection is stable enough for continued use. iOS users trying ExpressVPN get military-grade AES 256-bit encryption, no activity logging, and a native app that minimizes installation and configuration steps.

With just a few servers and mixed reports of Netflix and Hulu working, Kaspersky Secure Connection may not provide the services you want to avoid geo-restrictions. ExpressVPN, on the other hand, has more US servers than any other VPN we’ve tested, so you can quickly get around geoblocks to enjoy your favorite content.

The Bottom Line

ExpressVPN is a leading service with great customer support, high-quality encryption, and a large server network. While both options are good, ExpressVPN has a lead thanks to these features and rave user reviews for excellent torrent functionality and user-friendly apps. You will find that Kaspersky Secure Connection provides interesting tools at reasonable prices, mixing in parental controls and banking browser security enhancements. The downside to it is mixed support for torrents and streaming services, plus it has limited customer support, especially compared to ExpressVPN’s 24/7 chat.
