ExpressVPN and Turbo VPN both perform well for streaming. ExpressVPN is a much broader service with support for all devices on all major platforms and many servers in different areas, military-grade protection, and torrenting support on all servers. Turbo VPN’s mobile-only service mixes wi-fi security and streaming-preferred servers with ads and sometimes fast speeds. The simple interface has no desktop options, but gets around most geo-restrictions on some of its servers. It is based in China, which introduces many security and privacy concerns, plus the service doesn’t work in China itself. Discover which might be the best option for your needs by reading more.

ExpressVPN is one of the most popular and trusted names in the industry. It’s known for being one of the safest, fastest VPNs around, so I wanted to see if it can live up to these claims. It’s not the cheapest VPN, but it often offers discounts that make it a better value for the money. Other decent VPNs offer similar security features for much cheaper. So, do you really need to pay that muc...

I've been an ExpressVPN customer since 2017 and it's been great: quickly connects to a nearby server i... n the Wash DC region, embedded shortcuts to apps I want to use while using VPN, disconnects quickly, has the kill switch feature which is necessary these days, and has a fine mobile app which works well on my Android phones and tablets. However, I was just notified that the annual price is jumping from $99 to $117 upon the next renewal, so it's time to see how the others compare within VPN Mentor.More

    Ok, but expensive

Seems ok, but I wouldn't say it's worth $20AUD a month. That's steep if you live in a backwater like A... ustralia, where the currency is not valuable. Easy enough to set up - you don't need to be Einstein - but unless you're a tech nerd who can take a look under the bonnet, you'll just have to trust what they say about their product. It frequently drops out without the slightest warning, often when it's the only thing online at the time - despite fast and flawless fiber internet, rendering expression entirely useless UNLESS you have it sitting on your desktop where you can keep an eagle eye on it to actually see it when it drops out so you can kick it back into service again (it doesn't do it by itself), which seems to defeat its purpose, so I'm taking away 2 stars for that. Support is good and they do get back to you as fast as they can.More

Turbo VPN is one of the most popular free VPNs available, but it’s had its fair share of controversies. It has tried to clean up its image over the years, so I tested all its features to see if it can keep you safe online. Overall, I do not recommend using the free or paid versions of Turbo VPN. It’s definitely not safe since it leaked my real IP address on several servers. The free Chrome e...

    It's the ideal free vpn.

Many people complains that the speed is slow but I would like to say that VPNs are slow generally and ... this is much much better than others. Simple, few or non ads and good servers! I'm satisfied in it's normal speed even though I am not a premium user. The speed is quite reasonable for free VPN.More

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

China-based Turbo VPN performs well with specialty streaming servers and a sometimes fast mobile connection, yet lacks desktop support and logs your data. ExpressVPN offers more than 3,000 servers and supports every leading platform with robust P2P options.

    Best VPN for Torrents

Turbo VPN explicitly says not to use BitTorrent, or you’ll get in trouble. ExpressVPN allows you to torrent on all 3,000+ of its servers, optimizes high-speed downloads, and protects you against information leaks.

    Best VPN for Windows

ExpressVPN has a robust Windows app that includes a kill switch, military-grade encryption, high speeds, and a user-friendly design. Turbo VPN does not offer a Windows client as it's mobile only.

    Best VPN for Android

Turbo VPN shields your data from hackers while you're on wi-fi networks with a free, ad-based solution that provides unlimited bandwidth. ExpressVPN’s Android app boasts leading encryption and security features, servers in 105 countries, and excellent streaming capabilities.

    Best VPN for Mac

Turbo VPN is mobile-only, so there is no Mac client available. Meanwhile, ExpressVPN offers a user-friendly client that includes robust encryption, streaming support, P2P options, and fast speeds.

    Best VPN for iOS

With Turbo VPN, you'll get fast wi-fi VPN protection, a simple interface, and support for leading entertainment sites and a simple user interface. ExpressVPN’s iOS app also works well with streaming sites and offers reliable security, a significant number of high-speed servers, and 24/7 live chat support.

    Best VPN for USA

Turbo VPN works well with Netflix and a few other US streaming sites, though it could be slow. ExpressVPN is a far superior choice — it has more US servers than any other VPN we’ve tested. Plus, in our tests, it worked with all our licensed US streaming platforms without issues.

    The Bottom Line

ExpressVPN is the unequivocal victor. It provides reliable connections across all its servers, along with fast speeds and streaming support. Its location in the British Virgin Islands offers reassurance about their no-logs policy. In contrast, Turbo VPN is quite restrictive as it only caters to mobile services, and lacks many advanced features like P2P support and a kill switch. We experienced slow and inconsistent connections due to server downtime with Turbo VPN. Its Chinese base also raises serious security issues. ExpressVPN further sets itself apart with its highly responsive 24/7 customer service, while we experienced over a week's wait for support from Turbo VPN.
