NordVPN and Norton WiFi Privacy were developed by two of the most reputable internet security companies in the world. Both VPNs prioritize helping users achieve absolute anonymity through a top-class encryption and a strict no logs policy; although NordVPN has a stronger encryption capacity. They both offer apps for Windows, Android, iOS and Mac devices.

With regard to servers, Norton WiFi Privacy offers around 30 servers in about 25 countries while NordVPN provides access to over 3,000 servers in 60 countries. NordVPN also has dedicated servers for bypassing Netflix, whereas Norton WiFi Privacy has none. NordVPN is more reasonably priced with more promotional offers.

Finally, while Norton WiFi Privacy only allows one connection per account on its basic VPN plan, it allows up to ten simultaneous connections on its most expensive plan. Meanwhile, NordVPN allows up to six simultaneous connections regardless of which package is purchased.

It’s not often that a VPN has cheap prices coupled with an excellent set of features. Yet, when my team and I looked at what NordVPN has to offer, this is exactly what we found. It offers a huge global network of servers, unblocks hundreds of streaming platforms, and has iron-clad security and privacy features — and you can get it all for just $3.29/month. I had to wonder what the catch was. ...

Best documentation was easy to understand

I came from Surfshark which never worked correctly. I had to run from the browser extension with supp... ort telling me it was my network that was causing the problem. That was rubbish. I set Nord up and had it running in a short time from the documentation. I only had to ask support about accessing more servers than just the one I saw. Great product.More

Average service, some nice features, rubbish support

Basic features work really well. Basically. I liked the feature that when Nord crashes (as it seems to...  do monthly) it will shut other apps so they aren't exposed. My subscription is based in Australia. Found downloads peak at about 1-1.5Mb/s, which is ok as long as you aren't playing online games. Don't go for the frills (though hard not to when they gamify them). I canceled my subscription because I added the Kill switch and then MFA. Nek Minnit I can't even log in. No way to remove the Kill switch without logging in. Uninstalled, reinstalled no joy. Went to the help page, and it redirected me to up my subscription as the only solution. No chatbot where I am. and I don't have an email app so couldn't email help. After a couple of hours of mucking around. Gave up and went to a competitor. Note: if I hadn't played with the security settings, I would still be with Nord. But if I can't log in, it's a dead service to me.More

Norton is one of the biggest names in internet security, but its VPN is not considered the best out there. Given its global reputation,  I decided to put it to a test, and see if it’s really worth it. I wasn’t expecting anything more than online security, but is it good enough to be declared a great VPN service? I started by looking into its privacy policy to see what kind of information ...

Extremely slow and frequently impossible to connect

A month ago I bought the license of Norton antivirus + Norton VPN; since that time I have to be lucky ... to activate Norton VPN; most often there is a connection error; I know that my LTE connection is not really fast but with the previous VPN from avast I had never experienced this kind of problems it was slow that is true but it has never failed as Norton does almost every day; to me, this is totally useless product; therefore today I bought another one CyberGhost and will see (I have 45 days to get money back if it will fail in my case); it is a pity that I did not check this web site where real experts assess the soft.More

Best VPNs by category

With NordVPN’s 3,000+ servers in 60 countries, its stronger encryption, and the ability to connect six devices simultaneously makes it a very attractive VPN. Norton WiFi Privacy has a strong encryption and allows up to 10 simultaneous connections on one of its plans.

NordVPN is a great VPN for downloading torrents as it has dedicated servers for P2P file sharing and unlimited bandwidth. Norton WiFi Privacy doesn’t allow torrenting but has really fast servers.

If you need a VPN app for PC that’s pretty easy to use and has very strong encryption, choose NordVPN. If you’re looking for a dedicated Windows app with a user-friendly interface, then you can’t go wrong with Norton WiFi Privacy.

NordVPN’s Android app can be installed and ready to use within a few minutes. Norton WiFi Privacy also has a secure Android app that’s easy to navigate.

NordVPN supports multiple protocols including OpenVPN and IPsec which can easily be integrated into Macs. Norton WiFi Privacy also has a dedicated app for macOS with access to all its servers.

NordVPN has a very intuitive iOS app and allows up to six simultaneous connections which can be very useful if you have multiple iOS devices. Norton WiFi Privacy also has an iOS app and allows up to ten connections depending on your selected plan.

With over 1,000 dedicated US servers for bypassing geo-blocks from services like Netflix, Hulu, and HBO - NordVPN certainly has a better VPN for the USA. Norton WiFi Privacy on the other hand only has a few VPN servers dedicated to the USA.

The Bottom Line

NordVPN is by far a better VPN compared to Norton WiFi Privacy in terms of overall reliability, availability of servers, and VPN speed. It also provides 24/7 customer support and has more reasonable prices. If you need a VPN with the highest encryption available that flawlessly bypasses Netflix’s VPN blocks and has a no-logs policy, you should definitely go with NordVPN.
