VPN One Click Review 2022 - Keep This in Mind Before Buying
VPN One Click delivers a basic VPN service for a budget price. It is very cheap compared to other providers if you need to cover only 1 device, as the pricing is on a per-device basis. VPN One Click is speedy, with above-average performance, and offers cross-platform compatibility with most major operating systems and devices: Mac, iOS, Windows, and Android. It is not compatible with Linux. The service is headquartered in the UAE and its server network covers 49 locations.
VPN One Click uses the IKEv2/IPsec protocol to encrypt and secure your online activity. It is an advanced security option, but not as good as OpenVPN. The IKEv2 protocol has limited support for platforms and is not immune to firewall blocks. It cannot bypass a restrictive Chinese firewall. If security is on top of your priority list, take a look at 100% secure VPNs here.
VPN One Click offers a 7-day free trial to test it out, available for both mobile and desktop clients. It is very limited, though, and pretty much dysfunctional. To help you out and answer the question you most likely have: it doesn’t unblock Netflix or other popular streaming services. Don’t put your hope in this VPN if you plan on torrenting, either, as it’s non-P2P friendly, which means not compatible with any BitTorrent client.
VPN One Click’s homepage, which has been professionally updated recently, simply tells you what you can get: a fast connection, enhanced Internet security, ability to browse the Internet anonymously, no connection logs policy. It is not the best VPN on the planet, though, and here you can find out why.
7-day free trial. It allows you to try it for free, but you have to process the payment first and apply for a refund if not satisfied. I tested the process out below.
Streaming — Not Able to Unblock Popular Streaming Services
The attempts to bypass streaming media blocks of Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Disney+, Australian Channel 9, Amazon Prime Video, and BBC iPlayer were unsuccessful due to the dysfunctional free VPN trial.
Unblocked: None
The flawed free trial version made it impossible to test which streaming services can be unblocked by VPN One Click. However, the support statement mentioned below leaves little hope it can unblock any.
Blocked By: Netflix and Hulu
The support bot claims that unblocking streaming services like Hulu And Netflix from abroad is most likely not allowed. The customer support staff member contacted via email has not replied to that question, which suggests VPN One Click is not able to unblock popular streaming services and proves the poor quality of the service.
VPN One Click couldn’t unblock any streaming sites
Speeds — Fast Connection
As the free trial disconnected me from the server almost immediately, testing the speeds was unsuccessful. Customer support has not replied to my question about the VPN’s speeds, too, similar to my question about unblocking streaming services.
However, VPN One Click being fast seems to be one of the main selling points advertised on its homepage. It says that VPN One Click is designed for maximum speed and creates a super-fast connection with no traffic limits. It also states that better speed while browsing the Internet is provided thanks to the IKEv2/IPsec protocol.
Are VPN One Click’s Speeds Fast Enough for Gaming? It's Unclear
I was not able to check the speeds for gaming myself. Nevertheless, the speed declaration from the main page sounds very optimistic for all of the gamers interested in VPN One Click.
VPN One Click claims to be fast enough for gaming, but I couldn’t use it
Server Network — Reasonable Network Size
VPN One Click offers servers distributed around 49 locations. This amount is pretty small compared to many other VPNs, but it is continuously growing. The exact number of servers is unknown, however, its biggest server presence is in the US and the UK.
The big plus is the physical presence of servers in some strict censorship countries like Russia and Vietnam. This is good information for those of you living there, as you don’t have to compromise speed by connecting to an international server. But there is a minus too — there’s no way to see the servers’ details, which is a bit annoying as you can’t choose the best available option.

Security — Advanced, But Not The Best Security Options
VPN One Click uses the IKEv2/IPsec protocol to encrypt and secure your online activity. It is an advanced security option used by many VPN providers. Nevertheless, the IKEv2/IPsec protocol has some security issues, like password hacking, traffic decryption, and downgrade attack vulnerability.
VPN One Click doesn’t support more advanced security options, like the OpenVPN protocol that is used by major VPN providers. Another missing feature is the kill switch, which continuously monitors your connection to the VPN server and automatically disconnects your device if the VPN connection accidentally drops. Taking into account VPN One Click’s connections are not very stable, this feature is greatly missed.
Privacy — Protects Your Privacy
Quoting VPN One Click’s Privacy Policy:
“We don’t store or log your IP address or connection details. We don’t store your connection logs or browsing activities. When you download and install our VPN client application, you are never requested to register with your email or any other personal information. There is no registration or sign-up process, users can straightaway start using our services once the application is installed and subscribed.”
Moreover, VPN One Click’s parent company, Kryptotel, is headquartered in the UAE and is not obliged to retain user data and hand it over to law enforcement.
Nevertheless, it is difficult to find more technical details or security audits to verify its procedures. VPN One Click says things that sound right, but doesn’t give us proof.
Torrenting — Torrenting Isn’t Allowed
If you have torrenting on your mind, look elsewhere. “We don't support any torrent and our VPN doesn't work with them,” they say.
Does VPN One Click Work in China? No.
We get a lot of contradictory answers to this question. VPN One Click’s homepage states: “VPN One Click works all over the world. It works even in China, where most VPN services fail.”
A customer support bot available on the website tells us: “It seems that China has added a new firewall, and we cannot bypass it. Most of the VPN providers using IKEv2 are facing the same issue. We are looking for a solution.” And, eventually, a customer support staff member contacted me via email and replied: “I’m sorry, but we don’t operate in China.”
Simultaneous Device Connections — Limited To 1 Per License
The pricing is on a per-device basis. If you need to cover more than one, be prepared to buy additional subscriptions. This might be very troublesome if you want to connect to the VPN on more than one device and can explain the low price.
Device Compatibility — Most Major Operating Systems
VPN One Click is available for several platforms and devices, including: Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, routers, XBox One, PlayStation 4, Apple TV, Wii Console, and any WiFi device. It is not available for Linux.
Installation & Apps
8.0
Set-Up & Installation — Easy Setups
It is very easy to get VPN One Click up and running. You can download and install the software from VPN One Click’s website, Google Play, or Apple App Store. There are simple steps to follow: choosing the plan (monthly or yearly), and confirming you want to purchase a product with your Apple ID (for iOS devices). VPN One Click doesn’t ask for your email address to register.
The pricing differs depending on the subscription period and what kind of device you intend to download VPN One Click for. In general, the longer the subscription period, the bigger the discount you get. Even though the monthly/yearly prices differ based on the user device, they are all quite affordable. Just keep in mind it’s per device.
VPN One Click accepts PayPal, Bitcoin, and payments made via iTunes and Google Play.
There is a 7-day free trial available, but you have to make a purchase first and remember to unsubscribe before the 1-week period ends, if you don’t want to go with it. The free trial only offers the US and German servers to try out. It is quite useless, however, as the VPN connection doesn’t last longer than a minute, and, honestly, discourages a longer subscription. Plus, there’s no money-back guarantee.
Reliability & Support
7.8
There’s no 24/7 live chat support, so the only option to get an answer to your question is a sad-looking customer support bot the VPN One Click homepage redirects you to when you click the Contact Our Support button.
This bot doesn’t provide too many answers and suggests getting in touch with a human agent, providing an email address. The customer support staff members reply briefly, not always within 24 hours.
Compare VPN One Click With The Top Alternative VPNs
A cheap VPN with limited features. It is fast, guarantees privacy, and has a competitive price if you want to use it for one device only, as it offers no simultaneous device connections. It can be a good choice for undemanding novice users.
It lacks features, usability, and, last but not least, security. Furthermore, it is not designed for streaming and torrenting. A better VPN with affordable rates can be easily found.
Servers in 49 countries
Doesn’t keep logs
Fast speeds
Doesn’t unblock Netflix and other popular streaming platforms
It is safe, but there are safer options available. VPN One Click uses the IKEv2/IPsec protocol to encrypt and secure your online activity. It is an advanced security option, used by many VPN providers, however major VPN providers use OpenVPN protocol. I looked into all of its security features during my tests and found it lacking.
The good thing about VPN One Click is its focus on privacy of users, users do not need to register with email or other personal details to use this VPN. Users can just download the app and start using it. No need to enter email address or anything.
Second best thing that I liked about VPN One Click is its faster server connections, I could connect to any of the servers within 2-3 seconds by just tapping on the server name.
I signed up back in 2016 for a week trial. It was not good and I thought no more about it.
What I missed then and in the following two years is that I had agreed to $10 a year being taken from my Paypal account. My mistake for not realizing and I spotted it this year and tried to contact the company.
They did reply and told me to log in and cancel.
That would be easy enough but there is no log in option. It doesn't exist. No username, no password
When challenged on this, they have gone quiet. No replies.
I have told them I want to cancel, I have told paypal I want to cancel and I will have to wait for my subscription date to see if that happens.
So if you want to pay forever join them.
If you want a working VPN then go elsewhere.
So the service as a VPN is below average but once you sign up, you are hooked and no help from the company.
I didn't even want a refund but just to cancel the service and I have been at this every day for the last seven days.
Why do you deceive people? It is not true that you cannot unsubscribe from PayPal. Just because you don't know how to stop it doesn't mean you can't. I stopped it twice. You can't help but reach for a year and want your money back. I have been using the app for 3 years and I am very happy. For me, the paid version works on all my devices. You don't have to pay for every device.
Linux support has been removed, don't bother with this VPN supplier
Sadly, OneClickVpn no longer supports Linux (Debian). This omission is tragic as many of us have moved from windows, manly due to time wasted with system updates and it vulnerability issues. It was a good vpn on my previous linux PC but the Gods at vpnoneclick.com have decided to no longer offer a linux version as download. Thanks, I'll take my business elsewhere.
