CyberGhost and are two very large VPN providers, with 20 million and 10 million subscribers, respectively. CyberGhost has a network of over 2,700 servers in 60+ countries, while operates a smaller network of just over 150 servers in 34 countries. Features like ad blocking, tracking protection, and malware prevention are all present in CyberGhost but absent in VPN. However, supports the SoftEther, IKEv1, and IKEv2 protocols, which are unavailable with CyberGhost.

Both VPNs are similar in their provision of unlimited bandwidth, except that restricts P2P file-sharing usage to 75GB per month. They both have dedicated apps for iOS, Android, Windows, and MacOS and maintain a strict no-logs policy. You will benefit from 256-bit encryption with either of these VPNs, with offering a choice between 128/256-bit.

CyberGhost is one of the most affordable VPNs on the market — you can get a subscription for as low as $2.19/month. I sometimes assume that price indicates quality, but with VPNs, I've been proven wrong before. So I wanted to see whether CyberGhost can really deliver at such a low price. I did a deep dive into CyberGhost’s privacy policy and security measures to determine whether it’s secu...

    Mostly Works

So far, the basic functions seem to be working fine. What isn't working is that the program will not ... automatically reconnect my computer to the internet after CG has "blocked" a connection. I don't know why it is blocking the connection nor does CG explain exactly what happened (or didn't happen). Instead, I get two choices (which can't remember what they are) in order to reconnect to the internet. I don't understand what the choices are nor do I understand why I have to choose. IMHO, the core functionality should be that CG is constantly trying to reconnect me to the internet and I shouldn't have to tell it to do that. It's like stopping at a stop light and having to wait for someone to give me permission to go again when the light turns green; the default state should simply be "Go".More

Literally has not worked at all. The "support" is utterly useless. Tried all their "solutions" and no ... difference. Now they won't give me a refund. I paid $90 for a product that hasn't worked. Avoid this product like the plague.More

8.0/10 claims to be the most secure VPN with a free plan. This sounds too good to be true, so it got me wondering — is it really a good alternative to the premium VPNs? So, I put through a series of tests to see if it’s safe, reliable, and effective. I found it offers great security, decent speeds, and a beginner-friendly user experience. It's easy to use and brings robust privacy ...

    Best VPN for free

It works perfectly fine, the speeds are good, and there are a lot of different locations. I have had ... no problems with this VPN, and I like that it has a 10GB data limit monthly (more than most competitors). I tried every other free VPN, but all of them are slow and aren't as fast as this one. In my opinion, download this VPN and you will be happy.More

    Best VPN by category

Overall, we recommend CyberGhost based on the exceptional value of its long-term premium plans, its support for more simultaneous connections (seven as opposed to five), and its reliable unblocking of Netflix. However, has also earned its status as a highly rated VPN by prioritizing security and offering a truly free version of its service.

With CyberGhost, you can expect to download torrents at high speeds with no bandwidth restrictions. Although supports torrenting on its servers, it restricts your activity to a 75GB monthly quota.

CyberGhost’s Windows app is very easy to use and offers malware and tracking protection alongside strong encryption. competes well in this category, though, with a Windows app that offers IP leak protection and also includes a SOCKS Proxy.

If you are looking for an Android VPN with automatic WiFi protection and a 7-day free premium trial, CyberGhost is the ideal choice.’s Android app supports the IKEv2 protocol, however, which helps to stabilize data encryption even with slow and unstable network connections.

CyberGhost has a powerful MacOS app that supports multiple VPN protocols including OpenVPN, L2TP/IPsec, and PPTP, and also offers access to its entire network of over 2,700 servers in 60+ countries. also offers a dedicated MacOS VPN client that offers unlimited server switching and an auto server selection feature.

CyberGhost offers very fast servers for streaming on iOS devices and allows users to connect up to seven devices simultaneously. Its iOS app is also well designed and far easier to use than’s app. Nevertheless, also offers an iOS app that supports up to five simultaneous connections and uses several protocols, including SOCKS and PPTP.

CyberGhost features high speed US servers that support all platforms, including many servers that easily unblock Netflix as well as other US websites and content providers. Although offers US servers capable of bypassing the geoblocks of numerous websites in the US, it does not unblock Netflix.

    The Bottom Line

Although is also a reliable VPN with a fast network, it cannot match the overall reliability, network size, and support offered by CyberGhost. CyberGhost is our strong choice in the comparison of these two VPNs and also offers more value for your money. CyberGhost also offers a wide range of practical features such as preconfigured profiles to suit the diverse needs of users. If you own many devices or need to access Netflix from anywhere in the world, you owe it to yourself to start a free CyberGhost trial now.
