HMA and Ivacy are two exceptional VPN providers with large networks and attractive arrays of security features. HMA provides over 900 servers in 192 countries, compared to Ivacy’s network of 450 servers in 100 countries. You can expect to find dedicated apps for your Windows, MacOS, Android, and iOS devices from either of these VPN providers. While both providers offer exceptional value, features like split tunneling and a NAT firewall are only available with Ivacy’s service. However, Ivacy and HMA both offer a kill switch, IPv6 leak protection, and support for multiple VPN protocols, including OpenVPN and IKEv2. HMA and Ivacy also offer budget-friendly subscriptions and have 30-day money-back guarantees in place for all new orders. Both VPNs can reliably unblock Netflix-US and similar websites, but HMA’s simple user interface and dedicated streaming mode make it a very attractive provider if streaming geo-restricted content is your main goal. Keep on reading for a category-by-category comparison to help you decide which of these VPNs you should spend your money on.

HMA (formerly HideMyAss) is a relatively cheap VPN that claims to offer more server locations than anyone else. However, it has faced some serious controversies in the past. Is it a VPN that can keep you safe and anonymous online? To find out, I performed extensive tests on all its features and explored its updated privacy policy. I also checked out several connection issues customers have rep...

    Excellent value for money!

First, it's a full VPN. Very intuitive and easy app. Lots of connection options and without much loss ... of speed. The official website has the payment method in my local currency, with a localized value and thus leaving a fair value through the VPN. Thank VPNMentor for the product recommendation and targeted discount.More

Ivacy is a long-running VPN with some of the cheapest subscriptions around. It also offers a popular free version and an extensive server network with many rare locations. But is it actually safe or trustworthy with your data? After all my tests, I’ve concluded that Ivacy is a solid option but not at the top VPN level. It offers above-average speeds and adequate security; the free version is...

Not sure where all these negative thoughts come from.

Never had a problem connecting my desktop pooters with Ivacy. Had minor problem connecting my IOS devi... ce to my dedicated European IP but that was soon sorted. I daresay most of the negativity comes from the younger generation who have no patience. Staff at Ivacy who helped this 75yr old were awesome and ever helpful. Keep at it guys! I'd give them 9.5.More

    Terrible support

I was a customer 6 years ago. They still email me frequently, despite me unsubscribing many times and ... reaching out to their customer support 8+ times. If Ivacy can't get this right then I wouldn't trust any other promise that they make.More

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

HMA provides an exceptional VPN service not many providers can match, one that includes servers in 190 countries, very simple dedicated apps for all major platforms, and some very useful security features. Ivacy also has a really nice service that includes many advanced security features and strong encryption.

    Best VPN for Torrents

HMA is an ideal VPN choice for downloading torrents, as it provides many dedicated high-speed servers for P2P and strong leak protection. Meanwhile, Ivacy also has dedicated P2P servers that are reliable for downloading torrents securely.

    Best VPN for Windows

HMA offers a dedicated Windows app that allows you connect to servers in 190+ countries, and also gives you access to features like advanced leak protection. Meanwhile, Ivacy has a very robust and attractive service for Windows, with a dedicated app that features split tunneling and a NAT firewall.

    Best VPN for Android

HMA’s dedicated VPN app for Android includes a dedicated streaming feature and a kill switch. Meanwhile, Ivacy’s dedicated Android app is easy to install and set up, and effectively defeats ISP throttling.

    Best VPN for Mac

HMA provides a MacOS app with a minimalist design that’s easy to understand and use. The app also features 256-bit encryption and IPv6 leak protection. Ivacy, on the other hand, competes with a very powerful MacOS service with advanced features like split tunneling and identity protection, all contained within a user-friendly app.

    Best VPN for iOS

You can rely on HMA’s iOS service to keep you anonymous as you bypass tough geoblocks. The app includes advanced leak protection and a dedicated streaming feature with guaranteed access to high-speed servers. Some of the best features of Ivacy’s dedicated iOS app are a smooth interface, leak protection, and the availability of a kill switch.

    Best VPN for USA

By providing hundreds of dedicated US servers that reliably unblock Netflix and similar American websites at lightning-fast speeds, HMA claims the prize as our VPN choice for the USA. Ivacy also unblocks Netflix-US and offers very decent speeds, but it has a smaller US server network than HMA.

    The Bottom Line

These two VPNs provide real value for your money, with feature-rich services available at budget-friendly subscription prices. However, by providing world-class, 24/7 technical support and access to servers in the most exotic of locations, HMA sneaks into the lead and emerges as the winner in this contest. It’s interesting to see what happens, however, when HMA is matched up against NordVPN and CyberGhost, two of the most complete VPN services available today.
