HMA and PrivateVPN are among the most popular and trusted VPNs on the market. Both providers are respected for the strong security features they provide, like IPv6 leak protection and AES 256-bit encryption. You can also rely on either provider to bypass geo-restrictions on Netflix-US and similar websites. HMA and PrivateVPN both provide budget-friendly subscription plans and offer 30-day money-back guarantees, although PrivateVPN’s prices run lower overall. You’ll get dedicated apps for MacOS, Windows, iOS, and Android with either of these VPNs. If you own multiple devices, you can enjoy support for up to five and six simultaneous connections with HMA and PrivateVPN, respectively. While it may seem that these two VPNs are entirely similar, there are some key differences. HMA offers access to over 900 servers across 190 countries, whereas PrivateVPN has around 100 servers in 56 countries. However, features like StealthVPN and remote help with installation can only be found with PrivateVPN. Scroll down to see a side-by-side comparison across several key categories.

PrivateVPN advertises itself as one of the best VPNs for streaming at a low price. It also claims to have great torrenting support, strong security features, and a true no-logs policy. But PrivateVPN is a small company, so can it compete with the biggest VPNs? To learn the answer, I tested out everything it offers. My global team and I found out if it really lets you stream securely in the bes...

    Works Great for many years.

I've been using their service for a great many years, and I'm very pleased indeed. Great service and s... upport, and more than enough speed for covering my needs. As long as they have coverage in countries I need to connect to, the number of servers in total is less relevant, as long as the servers they Do have provide enough speeds. They also support Wireguard, which is seldom mentioned in these reviews, probably since they don't have it in their native app, but they do and it's rock solid using that with their provided config files, and that in and of itself also increases the connection speeds, at least for me. All in all, they provide anything and all I want from a VPN provider. What others see as a downside, split tunneling and such, I see as a strength. I want my VPN provider to stick their nose in my business as little as possible, but rather provide a "clean VPN line" and then let Me decide what to do with my routing table. In short, they're Great, for my needs, but others will have to test and make up their own minds. :-DMore

    Been There

I've been using PrivateVPN for a year. The main reason was due to good price. It's slow, on certain ho... urs of the day you can't watch video smoothly. They have down time or some other problem frequently and it take ages to fix it. Customer support are so poor that my mum without IT knowledge could probably do a better job. Now I switched to another one and feelings for PrivateVPN is much worse because I have something to compare withMore

HMA (formerly HideMyAss) is a relatively cheap VPN that claims to offer more server locations than anyone else. However, it has faced some serious controversies in the past. Is it a VPN that can keep you safe and anonymous online? To find out, I performed extensive tests on all its features and explored its updated privacy policy. I also checked out several connection issues customers have rep...

    Excellent value for money!

First, it's a full VPN. Very intuitive and easy app. Lots of connection options and without much loss ... of speed. The official website has the payment method in my local currency, with a localized value and thus leaving a fair value through the VPN. Thank VPNMentor for the product recommendation and targeted discount.More

    The Bottom Line

While these two VPNs may be similar in many key aspects, PrivateVPN wins this battle by a nose by providing more budget-friendly subscription plans, more advanced security features, and more responsive customer support. The availability of features like StealthVPN, along with value-added services like free remote help for installation, pushes PrivateVPN into the highest tier of VPN services.
