IPVanish is one of the market-leading VPNs, whereas Windscribe is fast-rising provider whose popularity continues to grow. While Windscribe has a network of around 300 servers in 55 countries, IPVanish offers access to about 1,000 servers spread across 60+ countries. IPVanish operates a 24/7 live chat support system manned by technical experts, whereas Windscribe’s chat system is limited to automated replies from bots. However, while IPVanish allows a maximum of 10 simultaneous connections per plan, Windscribe allows an unlimited number.

IPVanish and Windscribe are similar, however, in their focus on providing a service that’s truly easy to use. They have dedicated apps for Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android, and also support the PPTP, L2TP, OpenVPN, IPSec, and IKEv2 VPN protocols. Users interested in torrenting and P2P file-sharing can rely on either VPN since they both support the service. They also both unblock Netflix, although IPVanish features faster server connection speeds.

IPVanish offers high-speed connections and an impressive list of advanced security features at a budget-friendly price. So, I was eager to test it out for myself. I carefully studied its privacy policy and thoroughly tested its speeds, security features, and streaming capabilities. I also looked into its network coverage and ease of use before putting its customer service team to the test. ...

    Very, very satisfied

I am into my third year of using IPVanish. I am extremely happy with the speed, reliability, features ... and reliability. The fact that I have used it for this long without trying the competition speaks volumes. I am never going to try anything else because I am completely happy with what I have. Why risk it?More

Misleading, false advertising, don't honor guarantee. BEWARE

IP address and region not effectively blocked on most sites. Streaming sites do NOT work with their se... rvices, but they do not disclose that anywhere on their website. The support team had no idea in terms of technical knowledge. They claim that their 30-day guarantee is unconditional and there is no risk, but they have so many exclusions buried in their fine print that the average user would have huge difficulty finding. They advertise on many streaming how-to websites where they KNOW their services do not work. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. If I could give less than one star I would. SO unethical.More

After its security breach, many people aren't sure if they can trust Windscribe — one of the most popular free VPNs. If it couldn't protect its servers, can you really rely on it to keep you safe, especially without a subscription? I tested every feature Windscribe has, including performing leak tests and speed checks and testing it for torrenting, gaming, and more. I also thoroughly investiga...

    Slimey Company and DARK past

The companies CEO ran ADULT WEBSITES. He is in an interview saying exactly this about his past, but ... he does not seem transparent with this today. Would you say making and running adult sites is a respectable or professional career? No. I would never trust them with my data, ever. They are slow, overpriced and unprofessional company that attacks people on reddit or discord who leave truthful feedback about this. They do not honor lifetime promises. Do not support this VPNMore

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

For providing decent speeds, strong security protocols and features, a responsive support system, and a larger network of servers, IPVanish is our overall pick in this VPN comparison. Yet Windscribe is also a rapidly growing and improving VPN that’s not too far from the top tier of the market.

    Best VPN for Torrents

IPVanish is a market-leading VPN when it comes to reliability and support for torrenting. It supports P2P on its servers and offers very decent speeds. Windscribe does not allow torrenting on its Indian, Japanese, and Windflix servers, but does support it on all other servers in its network. Windscribe is also pretty easy to use, with no additional configurations required before downloading torrents.

    Best VPN for Windows

IPVanish’s Windows client supports the OpenVPN, PPTP, L2TP and IKEv2 VPN protocols, and also features an OpenVPN Scrambler, LAN blocking, and an easily customizable interface. Windscribe for Windows is also feature packed and includes ad blocking, time zone spoofing, and a config generator.

    Best VPN for Android

IPVanish for Android devices can be setup within a few minutes and features unlimited server switching and military grade AES-256 encryption. Windscribe also supports an Android app with an ad blocker, tracking protection, and access to its entire server network.

    Best VPN for Mac

IPVanish has a user-friendly app for MacOS that features a NAT firewall and access to over 40,000 shared IPs. Windscribe competes with a dedicated MacOS app that prevents tracking and offers WiFi protection.

    Best VPN for iOS

IPVanish has a very secure and user-friendly iOS app with access to all its servers in 60+ countries and includes a kill switch. Windscribe offers a dedicated iOS app that features unlimited bandwidth, unlimited simultaneous device connections, and both a free version and pro subscriptions.

    Best VPN for USA

IPVanish has dedicated US servers capable of unblocking US Netflix and other websites, apps, and services in the country. It also supports HD streaming with high-speed servers. Windscribe offers a dedicated “Windflix” server for unblocking Netflix and other US streaming websites, but this service is only available on the Windscribe Pro version.

    The Bottom Line

While these VPNs share a reasonable number of core similarities, IPVanish’s speed, size of network, and outstanding customer support make it the winner of this contest. Users can rely on the speed of IPVanish’s servers to stream media without buffers and also for downloading torrents. IPVanish’s 24/7 live chat support is also staffed by real human agents, giving it an edge over Windscribe yet again.

While IPVanish is the faster VPN in this comparison, however, it may come up short when compared with other top VPNs on the market like NordVPN and CyberGhost.
