Like a lot of VPN services, Ivacy VPN and VPNSecure promise the best speeds, the best security, and the best anonymity. However, what matters isn’t what they promise, but what they deliver. Although VPNSecure doesn’t keep logs of your online activity, its location in Australia –known for intrusive data retention laws – takes away a lot of its charm for privacy-focused users. In comparison, Singapore-based Ivacy doesn’t claim to be an absolute zero-log service. Instead, the provider has a transparent privacy policy that clearly explains which data (connection times and bandwidth usage, not user activity) is stored, and for what purpose (diagnostics and service improvements). Moving on to features and performance, both providers equip their apps with AES 256-bit encryption, IPv6 leak prevention, kill switches, and support for different protocols, including OpenVPN. However, Ivacy takes things further with advanced options like split tunneling, a secure Smart DNS, and identity theft protection. In addition, with more than 1,000 servers in over 100 locations worldwide, Ivacy has a far bigger server network than VPNSecure, which is limited to 70+ servers in 40+ countries. As a general rule, a larger network means easier access to more restricted content. The rule holds true in this case, as VPNSecure fails to access some geoblocked sites like Netflix, despite its stealth VPN feature. What’s more, VPNSecure does not always work in China, whereas many people use Ivacy constantly in China with no issues. On the other hand, while both VPNs offer cross-platform support, VPNSecure stands out by offering unlimited simultaneous device connections, while Ivacy limits subscribers to five simulataneous connections per plan. Both VPNs support P2P and provide excellent 24/7 live chat support, but Ivacy comes at a cheaper cost. Let’s see how these two perform in a deeper, category-by-category analysis.

Ivacy is a long-running VPN with some of the cheapest subscriptions around. It also offers a popular free version and an extensive server network with many rare locations. But is it actually safe or trustworthy with your data? After all my tests, I’ve concluded that Ivacy is a solid option but not at the top VPN level. It offers above-average speeds and adequate security; the free version is...

Not sure where all these negative thoughts come from.

Never had a problem connecting my desktop pooters with Ivacy. Had minor problem connecting my IOS devi... ce to my dedicated European IP but that was soon sorted. I daresay most of the negativity comes from the younger generation who have no patience. Staff at Ivacy who helped this 75yr old were awesome and ever helpful. Keep at it guys! I'd give them 9.5.More

    Terrible support

I was a customer 6 years ago. They still email me frequently, despite me unsubscribing many times and ... reaching out to their customer support 8+ times. If Ivacy can't get this right then I wouldn't trust any other promise that they make.More

VPNSecure looks good on paper, but does it deliver? Finding a VPN that performs well in all fields isn’t an easy task. I took it for a test run to see whether this provider can keep you as secure as its name implies.  Founded back in 2010 in Sydney, NSW, I found VPN Secure offers solid security features with a seemingly airtight no-log policy. According to its customer support, it should e...

    Great VPN

I like it. Have had it for 3 years. I bought the lifetime subscription when that was around because Sp... ectrum sent me a letter warning me about "illegal activities" when I used torrent. The speed is actually pretty good because I could play CSGO and watch Youtube without lag or buffer. Overall I'd recommend this VPN.More

    Was great, but...

Performance is still good - IF you can connect. Many of the US servers simple don't work for me in Eu... rope. But after some trial and error, I found one. "Untied Sates + Ad Blocker" Their support used to be really, really GREAT. Now there is none. At all! I tried submitting a ticket from the app - several times. Then I tried sending a message to support on the site. NADA! NOTHING! ZIP!More

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

Despite their claims, speed isn’t a point of strength for either of these two VPNs. However, both Ivacy and VPNSecure can be trusted when it comes to encryption and security over vulnerable public networks. Ivacy boasts a much larger server array, broader web access, and more features at cheaper prices. VPNSecure’s biggest advantage is that you can use an unlimited number of devices at the same time.

    Best VPN for Torrents

Ivacy allows torrenting on specific P2P-optimized servers, whereas VPNSecure permits it on 90% of its server network. Only three servers on the VPNSecure network – UK 1, UK 2, and US 10 – do not allow torrenting. However, Ivacy has far more servers overall. Neither provider offers ideal speeds for downloading large files.

    Best VPN for Windows

With smart purpose selection (automatic configuration to match your intended use of the VPN), split tunneling, and multiple protocols, Ivacy offers an elegant dedicated client for Windows that combines efficiency and ease of use. VPNSecure has its own Windows client that is equally simple and user-friendly, but limited in features.

    Best VPN for Android

In spite of some speed issues, VPNSecure has a compact and thumb-friendly app for Android. Ivacy’s Android app isn’t as stable, but does include simple, preset profiles for different activities like streaming, downloading, and torrenting.

    Best VPN for Mac

Ivacy and VPNSecure both give you the same level of encryption and security on your Mac. Both apps are very well designed, but offer little room for customization. However, Ivacy gives you far more servers to choose from (with no limits on switching) and access to a wider variety of geo-restricted sites.

    Best VPN for iOS

VPNSecure gives you the option of either using its dedicated iOS app or manually connecting to servers through third-party OpenVPN clients. The native client is pretty basic and very easy to use, although we’d like to see a kill switch added. Ivacy also offers a decent and basic app for iOS, but with far more servers to choose from.

    Best VPN for USA

Whether it’s Netflix or Hulu, Ivacy will help you easily bypass geoblocks to access your favorite US streaming content. Remember, however, that inconsistent speed is one of Ivacy’s shortcomings, so you might end up dealing with a lot of buffering and lag. VPNSecure doesn’t have as many servers in the US and doesn’t work with Netflix, but does work well with Hulu.

    The Bottom Line

Top-of-the-line encryption, a good set of security features, and servers in more than 100 countries make Ivacy a good choice for beginners and casual VPN users. Ivacy’s smooth apps for a variety of devices can overcome stubborn geoblocks, and the provider offers good user support. However, if streaming or torrenting is your top priority with your VPN, you might run into issues with Ivacy’s slow speeds. VPNSecure also offers strong encryption and a good privacy policy, along with easy apps and a friendly live chat support team. However, its location in Australia, relatively small number of servers, and limited bypassing capabilities make it less desirable for serious VPN users, especially given that it is more expensive than Ivacy for most subscription plans.
