Which VPN is better?

There is a lot to be said about both VyprVPN and NordVPN. They are excellent products, each with respective merits. Both have a VPN kill switch (should you require it), a free trial and a 30-day money back guarantee. Both offer Open VPN; however, VyprVPN has a slick technology called Chameleon, which makes it very difficult to recognize your data (very useful if you are in a country like China). Speaking of which, both NordVPN and VyprVPN are extremely useful in censorship-heavy places like China. VyprVPN has a ton of servers all around the world- a few more than NordVPN does, and is very fast. NordVPN has the advantage of not being in the category of enemy of the internet, nor is it based in a fourteen-eyes country. Nord also accepts anonymous methods of payment, such as Bitcoin.

All of those TV ads you see for NordVPN might make you suspicious about its quality, but trust us when we say you can't get a better deal. That's not to say there are not a couple of things we wish NordVPN would improve, but our tests speak for themselves. NordVPN is the leader when it comes to security. Its double VPN (which encrypts your data twice!), strict no-logs policy, and Onion over VPN

Great tech support, always available, great speeds, very simple and intuitive app, great number of servers to pick from. I just had a chat session with the NordVPN tech support. I had an issue where I was getting a prompt about my service plan being expired. They resolved my issue within 10 minutes.

I rated Nord VPN and they downgraded me NordVPN is not one of the big players in the VPN world and I'm all about supporting the smaller companies, but my connection regularly drops out without warning (despite me selecting the option to be notified when the connection drops out, which by the way is as useless as a paper airplane to fly to the moon). I initially rated NordVPN 3/5 stars none the less, however, since doing so, NordVPN has decided that I am now running a "test version" of the app and now I cannot rate the app which I find very suspicious. I'm not saying don't buy this VPN, but I have to say I have lost trust in this company and now rate it a 1/5 stars accordingly. sorry.

Our testing of VyprVPN has shown it to be straightforward and enjoyable. Everything worked flawlessly and the software is very easy to get the hang of, even for new users of VPNs. VyprVPN has one noticeable advantage over its rivals. They have a technology called Chameleon, which is designed to reduce the recognizability of data to those who may want to intercept what you are doing, making this s

One of the best VPN services I tried, simple to use, comes with an app, plenty of servers to pick from! I had VyprVPN as part of my Giganews account. It's been great! I have a 100 Mbps download speed, and 10 Mbps upload, with fiber to the basement. I normally get about 90 Mbps download and 13 Mbps upload. With the VPN I get about 75 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.

Not a good VPN if you care about privacy or torrenting The good: -Was able to watch Netflix in US, Australia, and New Zealand. The other countries I tried were blocked (including the UK) as Netflix detected them as a VPN The bad: (Phew, where to start?) -THEY ARE TRACKING YOU: VyprVPN tracks what you are doing while you're connected to their service despite the claim on their privacy statement "What Golden Frog Does Not Collect From VyprVPN Sessions: Does not log a user's traffic or the content of any communications." This is obviously false because: -COPYRIGHT NOTICES: If they detect you are torrenting, you will be sent a DMCA copyright infringement notice by email and your service will be blocked until you sign an affirmation that you will not do it again. Refusal to sign means your service will forever be blocked. -BAD CUSTOMER SUPPORT: After I was sent an email that I had downloaded copyrighted material and that my service was blocked, I contacted support via live chat telling them I wanted to cancel my service. I asked for a PARTIAL refund since there was still 20 days left of the month that I would not be using. I did not ask for a full refund of the month, just the unused portion of the 20 days left! Not an unreasonable request, I think. The support person told me they had a strict no-refund policy. After arguing back and forth about why I didn't want to sign their affirmation and that they were the ones blocking my use of their product, the customer service agent told me he was going to end the chat! I find their attitude was quite inflexible and not customer-friendly. -NO REFUNDS, EVER: My request for even a partial refund was denied even though they blocked my service.

 The Bottom Line

Both VPNs are strong, stable and easy to use (Vypr maybe edges forward a bit here) and are definitely recommended by us, but NordVPN is the winner by a relatively small margin. It really depends on what you are looking for in a VPN. Both can access Netflix (as of this writing!). Nord allows 6 connections to Vypr’s 2; this certainly can influence your decision. Nord also has more flexibility in its setup and allows you to select which protocol you use, depending on your activity. While the winner here is NordVPN, you can feel comfortable choosing either as they are both excellent contenders. More Info
