HMA and Trust.Zone are two well-established VPNs that are known for their ability to bypass the tough geo-restrictions on US Netflix. In addition, you can expect strong 256-bit encryption and support for multiple VPN protocols, including OpenVPN and IPsec, from both VPNs. Unlimited bandwidth, support for P2P, and protection from tracking are some of the additional features that you’ll get with either of these providers. In terms of network size, Trust.Zone has recently expanded to now provide 164 servers in 40 countries, while HMA offers 940 servers in 190 countries. HMA Also has an edge in cross-platform compatibility, providing dedicated apps for Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android. Trust.Zone only has an app for Windows and therefore must be manually integrated into devices running other platforms. Another key area where these two providers differ is support. While HMA offers 24/7 support via live chat and email tickets, Trust.Zone only provides assistance via email and support tickets. Keep on reading for a more detailed analysis to help you choose which VPN is better for you.

Being on the market for more than 15 years, the UK-based HMA has established an excellent name for itself (literally). But, is HMA really worth a shot when there are so many other high quality VPNs out there? To find out, I performed extensive tests on its speeds, security, unblocking abilities, and more. I also explored its no-logs policy and money-back guarantee to see how trustworthy it is....

    Excellent value for money!

First, it's a full VPN. Very intuitive and easy app. Lots of connection options and without much loss ... of speed. The official website has the payment method in my local currency, with a localized value and thus leaving a fair value through the VPN. Thank VPNMentor for the product recommendation and targeted discount.More

Trust.Zone VPN states it has dedicated itself to customer privacy since it launched in 2014. Based in the Seychelles and using watertight privacy protocols, such as a no logs policy and an active warrant canary, it certainly lives up to its mission statement. Although there is no doubt that its security and privacy features are strong, I was disappointed to find that it struggled to unblock mo...

6 years with TZ and no real complaints

What to say about Trust Zone? Well, for $39.95 for a year compared to the next 'recommended' VPN comp... any at more than double that I can't see a good reason to leave Trust Zone, at all! Issues - It's literally only been this year that I've been experiencing problems, support has always gotten back to me within about 48hrs, not on weekends or evenings, which could be a potential problem. However, I've always been able to follow their instructions and fixed any errors that have occurred, uninstalling and reinstalling are simple and I've found that fixed any seemingly annoying problem, and it doesn't take more than 5mins to do that! Sometimes (I used UK servers mostly, based there) the server can get a little slow, or seem to stop, but I just flick over to another UK server or Germany is another fave and no more problem for 99% of the time I've ever had any issues. Benefits - For the price Trust Zone VPN is 'IMHO' truly great value for money and the privacy and security could be no better from everything that I've read, even on here. I bought Nord VPN yesterday as I was getting connectivity issues and wanted to see if it was TZ, it wasn't and now I've got to wait a week for my refund from Nord VPN, I wasn't impressed at all and it wouldn't connect properly and my speeds were truly terrible! This was on the supposed fast server for what I was using, I couldn't use my fave 'app' shall we say, and when it did connect I didn't get more than just under 2mbps and I have over 70mbps on my line and that will be going to a Gig soon, can't wait! The UK is so far behind where I lived in S.E Asia for 17yrs, that it's almost laughable, but it isn't is it! 1st world England, I think not! Lulz. I hope that TZ can sort out their server maintenance and inform the users of when it's being done, or a symbol next to the server(s) would be a nice touch to let us know that it's being worked on, etc. All in all, from the abysmal Nord VPN experience I had yesterday, all evening trying to get it to work, paying more certainly doesn't mean better in my years of computer and internet experience, and most recently been proven right yet again! Last hint and tip, never connect to the internet without a VPN. Good luck out there all. Wendy.More

    Best VPN by category

HMA provides a reliable service that includes servers in nearly every country worldwide and easy-to-use apps with exceptional security features. Trust.Zone also provides a secure and reliable service. Its main shortcoming is the lack of Mac and mobile apps.

HMA is our recommended VPN for torrenting, as it offers dedicated P2P servers with unrestricted speed for downloads. Trust.Zone also offers an unrestricted P2P service that allows you to remain anonymous when downloading torrents. However, its server network is both smaller and slower than HMA’s.

HMA provides an exceptional service for Windows with a dedicated app that includes a preconfigured streaming profile and advanced leak protection. Meanwhile, Trust.Zone provides a very user-friendly and powerful app for Windows that gives you access to features like tracking protection and support for both the OpenVPN and L2TP protocols.

HMA provides a more reliable service for Android by offering a dedicated app with security features like IPv6 leak protection and 256-bit encryption. In order to use Trust.Zone on your Android device, you’ll need to configure it manually via the universal OpenVPN app. The app can be easily downloaded and installed from the Google Play Store, but the process of configuring the VPN can be intimidating for inexperienced users.

HMA offers a dedicated MacOS app with a flat, easy-to-use design and access to the provider’s advanced IPv6 leak protection. Although Trust.Zone does not offer a dedicated MacOS app, it can be easily integrated via your Mac’s built-in VPN tool. Once installed, Trust.Zone’s VPN gives you access to dedicated IP addresses for streaming media from around the world.

HMA for iOS is a reliable app that includes a kill switch, strong encryption, and access to the provider’s entire network of servers in 190 countries. Trust.Zone does not provide an iOS app but allows you to manually configure the VPN using the built-in iOS VPN tool or the universal OpenVPN app.

HMA offers hundreds of lightning-fast, dedicated US servers that flawlessly unblock Netflix and similar American websites, making it one of the best VPN providers for the USA. Trust.Zone has fewer dedicated US servers but can still reliably unblock streaming services like Netflix and Hulu.

    The Bottom Line

These two heavyweights both provide very reliable services overall, but the absence of dedicated Trust.Zone apps for most major platforms means that HMA easily wins this contest. HMA provides a complete service in terms of both security and ease of use. The provider also offers more responsive customer support than Trust.Zone via live chat, which is very useful if you ever need an issue resolved swiftly.

Time to decide which one is best for you

Is HMA VPN better than Trust.Zone?

What should I keep in mind when choosing between HMA VPN and Trust.Zone?

When choosing a VPN, you want to pay close attention to its number of servers, overall speed score, pricing, and the number of simultaneous device connections it offers. While some VPNs provide a flawless online experience, others will really slow you down.

If you’re ready to commit, then HMA VPN may be perfect for you due to its performance during the tests .

Is HMA VPN faster than Trust.Zone?
