Three mid-level VPNs from TunnelBear VPN, Freedom-IP VPN, and GetFlix VPN. All three VPNs provide 256-bit encrypted tunnels; however, each provider has differing levels of logging. Freedom IP keeps logs, TunnelBear keeps partial logs and there is little information about GetFlix's logging policies.
Overall ratings are pretty similar across all three options, with TunnelBear being slightly higher in price. Getflix and Freedom IP both offer a money-back guarantee and anonymous payment options, such as Bitcoin, whereas Tunnelbear does not.
Service coverage is also fairly similar to the number of countries served and servers available.
When it comes to support, GetFlix gets a gold star for its 24/7 coverage.
Freedom-IP is a great option for streaming videos on websites such as Netflix. GetFlix, however, does not support Netflix, as the name may suggest, instead covering services like Apple TV, and it’s the only VPN with a kill switch out of the three compared here. All VPNs support multiple devices, allowing you to play games on the PC while enjoying secure access on your tablets and phones.

TunnelBear’s team does an excellent job in branding the VPN but is that all it takes to create a great service? With over 300 VPNs out there, the competition is fierce so I had to take it for a test and see if there’s more to it. I looked into its privacy policy and security features to see if it’s really safe. I ran many tests on its servers, checked the speeds, how many streaming platf...

DANGEROUS for CANADIANS

I live in the GTA, everything was fine "until" I installed TunnelBear on one of my 7 devices, now I ca... n no longer watch any USA TV stations on line on any of my other 6 devices, this company is scum, they hid something in there that disabled all my other devices unless I buy their VPN, well, not going to buy their garbage, can't believe how much it slowed my device, I would rather wipe all my drives than give TunnelBear one cent!More

The focus of GetFlix sounds like it should be accessing to Netflix. While it uses SmartDNS to provide fast Netflix streaming, it also unblocks music and video streaming services that might not otherwise be available in your country. GetFlix has more than 90 global VPN servers and 1000 DNS servers located in the United States, Africa, South America, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe, and more. Al...

Getflix DNS

I have had this service for a number of years in New Zealand. Getflix is really a DNS service at fir... st. I have put the smart DNS in my router so it covers all devices in my home. On my Nvidia Shield, iPad, and iPhone I can stream BBC player, ITV, Channel 9, 10, and ABC, and I also have access to HBO max and other streaming services which I would not normally be able to use because of geographic restrictions. DNS is better than using a VPN to change location as it doesn't slow the speed of my connection and also I don't have to keep changing the location on the VPN. If you use this service as a DNS service only it works really well. So again, use this as a DNS service and maybe use another provider for VPN.More

Not working. Terrible customer service

I'm surprised this review is listed as being updated on Jan 22 and still lists US Netflix access, when...  no access to US Netflix has been possible via Getflix since Sept 21 and still isn't possible. As of this week access to Amazon, Prime US has also failed for me and the terrible customer service makes the whole experience so much worse. Typically the chat responses work until you ask a tricky question (like when will this be fixed?) and then they will disconnect you and the entire chat box option then disappears. To make matters worse, despite knowing that several friends and colleagues have had the same experience (of being prematurely cut off) they will try to tell you that you disconnected the chat and that it must be an issue with your internet, although that has literally never happened to me on any other chat service online! In the past the service would go down and they would tell you the backend team was working on fixing it and you'd get an eta, but now it seems that access to Netflix US and Amazon US are not going to be fixed, which is a core part of why people are using the service. It's cheaper than other options but now you know why...More

Freedom-IP is a French VPN service founded in 2010, but you rarely see its name across the web. If you are French, you might know more about it, as it seems that the service is aimed towards a French audience. Even though Freedom-IP was probably not created strictly with gamers in mind, it’s great for online games because it has a special LowLatency mode that enables improved speed and lower...

Freedom-IP VPN is the winner here, with a great price point and good overall service. Freedom-IP VPN provides great video streaming capabilities, alongside support for Open VPN and PPTP services. It also covers multiple operating systems, including Windows and Mac OS. This VPN will get you through the Great Firewall of China and while providing you with reasonable privacy. Another great feature from Freedom-IP VPN is the gamer mode, which reduces latency and ping times for a better gaming experience. TunnelBear VPN and GetFlix VPN are both good all round VPNs. Freedom-IP VPN is even better.
