TorGuard Anonymous VPN, VPN Unlimited, and hide.me are three great VPN options. While they vary in quality and service, each provides all the basics you need in a VPN solution. For example, military-grade encryption, privacy policies, and customer support.

According to our in-depth VPN reviews, none of these 3 providers falls below a 4-star rating, which is good news all around. VPN Unlimited has a great price point, with a money-back guarantee and multiple device connectivity. Not to mention a server network with a presence in every major region. However, some reports indicate its customer support could be better.

hide.me is a good, stable solution, providing multiple device support, and a no-logging policy. It does well regarding reliability and support, as well as ease of use. If you’re looking for a VPN solution at a good price, this is a fair option and comes close to TorGuard.

TorGuard Anonymous VPN offers exceptional privacy and has one of the highest rankings in the VPN world. It offers guaranteed service globally, which is great if you need to get through the Great Firewall of China. The price point, features, and ease of use rank very well in our analysis.

TorGuard is an expensive service that focuses on keeping you safe while torrenting. However, it makes you jump through a lot of hoops to access its free trial, and the same is true for its refund policy. This really made me wonder whether this high-cost VPN is worth it. Overall, TorGuard is an okay VPN, but better alternatives are available. It offers excellent speeds and robust security featu...

    Love Torguard

I have used several VPNs over the years and got blocked by Netflix or Amazon, etc. I went with Torgua... rd and I did have to get a personal IP address at an additional cost. But anytime there is any issue, they are right there and helping. They may have to change your IP address, but they do what they promise. I switched to their annual plan and I don’t see anyone with a much better price than what I am paying. I also have a free email address that I don’t use much, but a few people have it, so I keep it and use it. I consider trying someone else once in a while but am afraid if I do that, if I’m not happy and come back to them, the price will be higher. I honestly, don’t see why they aren’t more highly recommended. Also, I find them very patient, as I am not so young and not always great with current technology. They have been great with me.More

    Does not work with firestick

Their VPN does not work with 1st gen firesticks. They did not post this on their site. I paid $60 for ... a 1-year membership. After 7 days got a notice from Spectrum 18 complaints "Notice of Copyright Infringement" emails from the spectrum. Contact billing for refund, they gave me the runaround and kept asking the same questions over and over again. Then told me a refund is not available after 7 days. However, it takes spectrum over 7 days to send a complaint and they never said it didn't work with 1st gen firestick. Also, the app connected to vpn through the firestick and never said it had an issue. So this company is scamming, do not use it if you want to get a "Notice of Copyright Infringement" letter from Spectrum and no refund.More

Offering a popular free version and cheap premium plans, hide.me claims to be one of the best value VPNs in the world. But will the free version keep you safe online, and how do its paid plans stack up to other premium VPNs? To find out, I performed extensive tests on every feature that hide.me offers. I explored speeds, streaming capabilities, and safety with the free and paid versions. In ad...

    Best VPN for free

It works perfectly fine, the speeds are good, and there are a lot of different locations. I have had ... no problems with this VPN, and I like that it has a 10GB data limit monthly (more than most competitors). I tried every other free VPN, but all of them are slow and aren't as fast as this one. In my opinion, download this VPN and you will be happy.More

VPN Unlimited comes across as a very capable VPN, with its main focus being unblocking multiple streaming sites. I wanted to see if it delivered on this promise, and to test whether its security, privacy, and customer service stacks up against the best VPNs in the industry. While it certainly delivered on some of its assertions, unfortunately, it fell short in some essential areas. It unblocke...

    Very Happy with Lifetime license

I picked up a lifetime license and honestly, it's been "solid". It delivers at good speeds, no leaks ... so far have been detected. Offers a wide range of streaming options & Protocols. I've contacted customer service several times and received replies quickly. The servers for P2p are limited to three locations but are still very functional. I'd appreciate a public audit of how secure the service is but it seems none of this info is published for customers, or potential customers to view.More

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

TorGuard is the winner. It has 3,000 servers across 50 countries and the fastest connections among these three, and includes all the essentials like a kill switch, split tunneling, and port forwarding.

    Best VPN for Torrents

TorGuard is the best choice for torrenting. It offers better speeds and more reliable connections. Unlike with hide.me and VPN Unlimited, P2P is supported on all servers. Plus, it includes port forwarding for faster file sharing.

    Best VPN for Windows

TorGuard has the best Windows app. It’s simple to use, yet still has plenty of additional features like App Kill and Ad blocking DNS servers. Additionally, it comes with Stunnel — a proprietary protocol that disguises your VPN traffic as regular traffic to help you bypass VPN blocks. VPN Unlimited and hide.me are both highly secure, but have fewer advanced features than TorGuard.

    Best VPN for Android

hide.me wins this round, as it’s the most complete out of the three VPNs. It has many options, such as split tunneling and a kill switch. VPN Unlimited also includes a kill switch, while TorGuard doesn’t. This is a major security risk, and the only reason TorGuard isn’t the winner, as it’s a great VPN otherwise.

    Best VPN for Mac

TorGuard is great for Mac. It connects very fast, and it’s highly secure. hide.me also has a great Mac app, but it sometimes crashes unexpectedly. VPN Unlimited is good for basic use, but very restricted compared to the other two VPNs.

    Best VPN for iOS

hide.me is the winner, as it’s one of very few VPNs that offer a kill switch for iOS. TorGuard’s and VPN Unlimited’s iOS app have far fewer features than their other clients, which counts them out of this one. Still, all three VPNs offer secure connections and user-friendly experiences.

    Best VPN for USA

TorGuard has more servers in the US than its competitors. However, hide.me is headquartered outside the US and any intelligence-sharing alliances, which is great for privacy. Additionally, it works with most US streaming platforms, while TorGuard can’t unblock many. VPN Unlimited is good for streaming too, but has fewer US servers than the other two VPNs.

    The Bottom Line

Even though hide.me comes very close, TorGuard Anonymous VPN is the winner of this comparison. As the name suggests, it prides itself on providing great anonymity with a strict no-logging policy. It doesn't stop there, providing thousands of servers worldwide with extensive country coverage, giving you peace of mind when you're on the move. Reliability scores are high, with great reviews to support that. It's also easy to use and reasonably priced. VPN Unlimited is a good mid-range solution, but if you’re looking for something extra, then TorGuard Anonymous VPN is the best of the bunch.
