TorGuard and Private Internet Access (PIA) are top-notch VPNs with many customizable features. You can fine-tune security options to balance speed and security. Both offer AES 256-bit encryption (the highest level available), a kill switch, and DNS leak protection. Also, thanks to their strict no-logs policies, your data won't be collected or shared with third parties.

However, they differ widely regarding speed, server networks, and the length of their money-back guarantees. Find out which one takes the gold.

Private Internet Access (PIA) offers one of the cheapest VPN subscriptions, starting at just $2.19/month. With such a low price, I wondered whether PIA could really stand out against its higher-priced competitors. However, it prides itself on a 10-plus-year reputation of being safe and trustworthy, so it’s also one of the best-value VPNs available. I’ve used PIA for a while and have examine...

Best VPN Out on The Market

I like PIA VPN the best for the following reasons: ● It's a reliable and trustworthy policy; they don... 't record anything harmful to you; strict no logs. ● I've been using it for one month and there are specific times when it speeds up my internet speed (varies by internet) ● It's a distinctive feature of DIP (dedicated IP) - I think not many popular VPNs have this feature, I also purchased this feature to avoid getting the captcha verification and it never showed up ever since. It's only been a month using this VPN but as I gain more experience with this client, I'm pretty sure I will find more good features and utilize them. Thanks for having read my review:)More

I have used PIA for several years with no issues. Currently, amazon fire devices can no longer sign i... n to the account. Used on 3 TVs with 3 different fire devices with the same result. There is no way to resolve the issue.More

TorGuard is an expensive service that focuses on keeping you safe while torrenting. However, it makes you jump through a lot of hoops to access its free trial, and the same is true for its refund policy. This really made me wonder whether this high-cost VPN is worth it. Overall, TorGuard is an okay VPN, but better alternatives are available. It offers excellent speeds and robust security featu...

    Love Torguard

I have used several VPNs over the years and got blocked by Netflix or Amazon, etc. I went with Torgua... rd and I did have to get a personal IP address at an additional cost. But anytime there is any issue, they are right there and helping. They may have to change your IP address, but they do what they promise. I switched to their annual plan and I don’t see anyone with a much better price than what I am paying. I also have a free email address that I don’t use much, but a few people have it, so I keep it and use it. I consider trying someone else once in a while but am afraid if I do that, if I’m not happy and come back to them, the price will be higher. I honestly, don’t see why they aren’t more highly recommended. Also, I find them very patient, as I am not so young and not always great with current technology. They have been great with me.More

    Does not work with firestick

Their VPN does not work with 1st gen firesticks. They did not post this on their site. I paid $60 for ... a 1-year membership. After 7 days got a notice from Spectrum 18 complaints "Notice of Copyright Infringement" emails from the spectrum. Contact billing for refund, they gave me the runaround and kept asking the same questions over and over again. Then told me a refund is not available after 7 days. However, it takes spectrum over 7 days to send a complaint and they never said it didn't work with 1st gen firestick. Also, the app connected to vpn through the firestick and never said it had an issue. So this company is scamming, do not use it if you want to get a "Notice of Copyright Infringement" letter from Spectrum and no refund.More

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

Based on its reliability, competitive pricing, and expansive global network, PIA comes out on top in our overall comparison. PIA also works with most streaming services. While vacationing in Hawaii, I tested it with Netflix US, Hulu, Disney+, and Max, and it worked without issues. TorGuard is a good contender but lacks some settings on certain apps.

    Best VPN for Torrents

PIA is better for torrenting as it offers more reliable download speeds. Plus, it has a MACE feature, which can come in handy for blocking trackers and malware.

    Best VPN for Windows

Both VPNs' Windows apps have various customizable security settings. But PIA's app design is better and includes an extended view where you can find a quick connect feature for easy access every time.

    Best VPN for Android

PIA offers one of the best Android apps. It has advanced customizable settings and reliable speeds. TorGuard's Android app lacks many features that it offers on its other apps.

    Best VPN for Mac

PIA is a better option for Mac overall with more features. TorGuard lacks the server search bar, so finding the correct server isn’t as fast and easy as with PIA. But it offers a map view of the servers.

    Best VPN for iOS

Both VPNs' iOS apps have good designs. However, PIA offers many more advanced customization options, like changing the level of encryption, which TorGuard lacks.

    Best VPN for USA

PIA is best for people who want to protect their data while still streaming content from their favorite local platforms. It has tons of servers worldwide, including connections in all US states. TorGuard isn't as reliable because it doesn’t work with a lot of platforms. Plus, it offers fewer US servers than PIA.

    The Bottom Line

PIA is the winner of this VPN provider comparison with thousands of fast servers worldwide, including all US states. It is highly customizable and offers advanced security features. PIA also comes with more affordable subscription plans and a 30-day money-back guarantee, as opposed to TorGuards short 7-day guarantee.
