After comparing these VPNs, we have a winner!

Which VPN is better?

Both PIA and Windscribe are popular providers, with only minor differences between them. Starting off with price, both services are cheap, but Windscribe costs a little more than PIA. Windscribe also offers a free VPN service, while Private Internet Access offers a 7-day money-back guarantee on all subscriptions. Even though PIA has over 3,000 servers in 25 countries, compared to Windscribe’s roughly 300 servers in over 50 countries, Windscribe offers more stable connections and higher speeds. In addition, Windscribe can access heavily restricted services such as Netflix, but PIA can’t.

Both VPNs abide by no-logs policies, use excellent encryption, and provide superb security features, including a kill switch (Firewall for Windscribe) and ad blocking. However, PIA outshines Windscribe by offering additional layers of encryption and dedicated IPs. Both VPNs offer browser extensions and user-friendly apps for all devices, including Smart TVs and routers. However, PIA gives you up to five simultaneous connections, whereas Windscribe can be used on an unlimited number of devices. Windscribe also offers live chat support, while PIA’s support is limited to a slow ticketing system.

So it’s a close contest – scroll down to see which VPN comes out as the winner!

Windscribe claims to offer top-notch encryption and access to tons of streaming platforms at a super low price, but are these claims accurate? With so many VPNs on the market offering similar perks but at a higher cost, these features seemed too good to be true. I had to find out for myself how good it really is. To see out how it performs, I thoroughly tested every aspect of the Windscribe ap...

The best VPN for streaming

I wanted VPN primarily to access streaming content from my home country. I tried (and paid) for PIA, b... ut I can't watch Netflix and I can get only some tv channels. I tried OpenVPN and the streaming services were locating and blocking the servers so fast, I needed a new server each day, sometimes even more than one. Then I found Windsribe and I can watch unlimited Netflix, ALL tv channels I can find online, everything in HD quality, and no lags. The APP works flawlessly on Hisense Android tv as well, while PIA couldn't establish a stable connection on that tv at all. For $2 / month ($1 for my country and $1 for unlimited data) I couldn't find anything better. Thank you.More

Poor customer service, do not buy

DO NOT BUY from them, first of all, the website support does not work properly, so I had to join the d... iscord to ask a few questions and the discord admins started insulting me on a public chat. I saved all of the screenshots and will issue a refund. I messaged all staff members on discord, no one responded to me. I talked to a website manager named "Winder" he refused to even apologize for the issue. He did not help me at all. A staff member named "winder" banned me from the server after I raised my complaints to him. He did not even take responsibility or apologize to me, he banned me from the server instead and never explained why he did that. This is outrageous, as he did not even let me talk to his supervisor when he banned me. You basically pay to get insulted. I highly recommend the website owner reconsider the staff team. UPDATE: After talking to the website manager for an hour. He called me a "petty" person. I took screenshots from his chats too.More

Private Internet Access has one of the cheapest VPN subscriptions available — you can sign up for as little as $2.03/month. With such a low price, I wondered whether PIA could really stand out against its higher-priced competitors. It’s been around for 10+ years, so it could be one of the best-value VPNs out there. I decided to find out just how good it is by looking into the company’s lo...

Best VPN Out on The Market

I like PIA VPN the best for the following reasons: ● It's a reliable and trustworthy policy; they don... 't record anything harmful to you; strict no logs. ● I've been using it for one month and there are specific times when it speeds up my internet speed (varies by internet) ● It's a distinctive feature of DIP (dedicated IP) - I think not many popular VPNs have this feature, I also purchased this feature to avoid getting the captcha verification and it never showed up ever since. It's only been a month using this VPN but as I gain more experience with this client, I'm pretty sure I will find more good features and utilize them. Thanks for having read my review:)More

Best VPNs by category

We appreciate PIA’s commitment to privacy and security, but those benefits come at the cost of speed and stability. Windscribe provides sturdy encryption together with higher speeds, and can be used for streaming, including Netflix.

Both PIA and Windscribe allow P2P and torrenting on specific servers. Again, Windscribe offers a speed advantage.

PIA and Windscribe both offer user-friendly Windows apps. Windscribe’s app for Windows supports the OpenVPN, IKEv2 and SOCKS protocols, and you can create a secure hotspot and proxy gateway. PIA’s Windows app supports OpenVPN, PPTP, and L2TP/IPSec. Both Windows apps include advanced security tools that you can tweak.

This may come as a surprise, but we find Windscribe to be a wiser choice than PIA. Both VPNs are cheap, highly secure, and reliable. However, Windscribe outplays PIA with its ability to bypass heavy restrictions, diverse and responsive support channels, higher speeds, and unlimited connections. It also offers a free VPN service with a generous bandwidth limit (10 GB/month).

On the other hand, PIA provides more attractive software clients, higher encryption levels, dedicated IPs, and cheaper prices. They both perform well with torrents and offer compatibility with all devices. So, if you need a VPN for streaming, Windscribe wins, but if you’re more privacy-focused, then you might want to go with PIA. Still not sure? Read what users say about Windscribe and PIA.

If you prefer OpenVPN to IKEv2 on Mac, then PIA is your choice. It also supports PPTP and L2TP. On the other hand, Windscribe uses IKEv2 as default for its Mac client. While the Windscribe client is very simple, PIA has sleeker software overall for Mac.

Neither PIA nor Windscribe support OpenVPN on their iOS clients. PIA uses L2TP/IPSec by default, while Windscribe uses IKEv2. However, you can manually configure OpenVPN for both VPNs through third party apps.

Despite being US-based and having 2,000+ servers in the US, PIA fails to bypass geoblocks of American streaming websites such as Netflix. On the other hand, Windscribe has significantly fewer servers, but offers higher speeds for streaming and can overcome US restrictions on Netflix, HBO Go, and other streaming providers.
