    Which VPN is better?

Note: SaferVPN has merged with StrongVPN, and it no longer operates independently. As a result, we’ll be comparing Private Internet Access with StrongVPN to help find the best VPN for you.

When it comes to these providers’ global server networks, StrongVPN is a little out of its league. With just 950 servers in 30 countries, it has a long way to go to catch up to PIA’s immense network of 29,650 servers in 91 countries. However, both these services have plenty in common, too!

Both are highly trusted VPN providers that use military-grade 256-bit encryption, have strict no-logs policies, multiple secure VPN protocols, and apps for the most popular platforms. With built-in obfuscation features, either can help you get past restricted networks. Torrenting users will also find that both VPNs give them fast downloads with P2P support on all servers.

For the impressive features it comes with, PIA is one of the most affordable VPNs and, unlike SaferVPN (now StrongVPN), accepts bitcoins. Both also come with a kill switch and DNS leak protection, which is key to ensuring your privacy is protected at all times.

While PIA permits unlimited simultaneous connections, StrongVPN still allows you to connect 12 devices at the same time.

Private Internet Access has one of the cheapest VPN subscriptions available — you can sign up for as little as $2.19/month. With such a low price, I wondered whether PIA could really stand out against its higher-priced competitors. It’s been around for 10+ years, so it could be one of the best-value VPNs out there. I decided to find out just how good it is by looking into the company’s lo...

Best VPN Out on The Market

I like PIA VPN the best for the following reasons: ● It's a reliable and trustworthy policy; they don... 't record anything harmful to you; strict no logs. ● I've been using it for one month and there are specific times when it speeds up my internet speed (varies by internet) ● It's a distinctive feature of DIP (dedicated IP) - I think not many popular VPNs have this feature, I also purchased this feature to avoid getting the captcha verification and it never showed up ever since. It's only been a month using this VPN but as I gain more experience with this client, I'm pretty sure I will find more good features and utilize them. Thanks for having read my review:)More

I have used PIA for several years with no issues. Currently, amazon fire devices can no longer sign i... n to the account. Used on 3 TVs with 3 different fire devices with the same result. There is no way to resolve the issue.More

    Terrible service

SaferVPN has terrible service. It is an Israeli-based company but for some reason, their Israeli node ... is missing for a while now. Their answer: "The Israel servers are under maintenance at the moment. It shall be back soon, I request you to please allow us some time." One has to wonder about a company that has no failover and takes weeks if not longer to bring up a server. If they had any competence or care, they could have brought up a new server within hours and a virtual one in half an hour. Gives you an idea of how bad they are. Stay away from this company and take your money somewhere else.More

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

As one of the top VPNs around today, it’s a clean sweep for PIA. StrongVPN’s acquisition of several services, including SaferVPN, has made it a solid challenger. And although it impresses with a decent variety of user-friendly apps and secure VPN protocols, it can’t beat PIA’s advanced features and settings that allow you to customize performance and security and block ads/trackers/malware on all your devices.

    Best VPN for Torrents

Both VPNs support P2P on all their servers and have no-logs policies. But, only PIA has advanced features specifically for torrenting, so it wins this category. Its port forwarding will help you boost speeds when downloading or uploading files. With its vast server network, you’re also pretty much assured that you can find a fast server near you, wherever you are. Plus, its speeds are fast, especially in nearby locations, so you'll be able to download torrents faster.

    Best VPN for Windows

As a top-tier VPN, PIA is still clearly out of SaferVPN's (now StrongVPN’s) league, and it’s most obvious when you compare their Windows apps. With settings like multiple encryption levels, packet size, and a customizable quick options display, PIA is a dream if you want to be in full control of your VPN’s performance and security, so it takes the win. StrongVPN offers a user-friendly app with all of the essentials, but that’s about it.

    Best VPN for Android

We really wanted to give this round to StrongVPN thanks to its sleek app, but PIA simply overpowers it with all its features. Android users can enjoy true private browsing thanks to the built-in InBrowser, plus PIA’s MACE. And PIA has more advanced Wi-Fi settings to ensure that you’re always protected by a VPN connection when you need it.

    Best VPN for Mac

Like its Windows and Android clients, StrongVPN has arguably the more user-friendly app of the two, but it’s not enough to outshine PIA. PIA still impresses with its incredible customizability and airtight security features. StrongVPN’s WireGuard, OpenVPN, IKEv2, and L2TP support is impressive, but a lack of split tunneling doesn’t do it any favors. PIA still supports OpenVPN and WireGuard as well as giving access to Shadowsocks/SOCKS5 if you want to use obfuscation.

    Best VPN for iOS

With a kill switch and split tunneling, PIA has one of the most secure and feature-rich VPN apps for iOS. StrongVPN has a kill switch but no split tunneling. PIA also has some unique privacy features for mobile devices, like InBrowser and Safari Content Blocker. If you want to make sure you never go unprotected while on the go, you can also take advantage of the advanced Wi-Fi settings.

    Best VPN for USA

Both PIA and StrongVPN are based in the US, which isn’t ideal. But with an independently audited no-logs policy and a history of not complying with data handover requests, we feel safe trusting PIA. Plus, it’s hard to beat the fact that PIA has a huge number of servers spread across all 50 US states. Not to mention, servers in many more countries, so you can access content from anywhere while in the US.

    The Bottom Line

Although both providers have the ‘flaw’ of being US-based, they also offer military-grade encryption, a no-logs policy, and a kill switch to help keep your online activity safe and private. However, in some areas, PIA clearly outshines StrongVPN. It offers a much wider global reach thanks to its larger server network, apps for more devices (including Linux), an unlimited number of simultaneous connections, and superior customer support. With advanced tools, like MACE, Multi-Hop, Obfuscation, and a built-in private browser for mobile, it’s one of the best choices for those who care about their online privacy.
