PureVPN is a premium service that operates 6,500 servers in 78 countries. It offers unlimited bandwidth, P2P compatibility, and high-end security features such as military-grade encryption. Even better, it can unblock Netflix.
Overall, I was seriously impressed with PureVPN’s test results. I had excellent speeds on its local servers, and was pleased to see that its security and privacy polic...

An excellent value, all things considered
While they will absolutely throttle p2p in most servers, it's easy to find and log into the p2p server... s. They responded promptly when I had questions (although once it was basically to say "sorry, tough luck"). Overall though, I think I paid something like $20 for a year's subscription - I really can't complain. I'm sold on the service, although I think the fact that it's based out of HK is a bit spooky. 9/10More

Never worked
Tried to install with online chat assistance and never got it to install on my Firestick, that is less... than a year old. It kept freezing up on installation and I could not move the City, State or the Country around, kept freezing up. I have a GB connection and every other app works fine. The tech kept telling me uninstall and reinstall the app again. I did this 5 times and still exactly the same thing it would freeze and never got it to install. So within 1 hour, I cancelled my subscription.More

Endorsed by The New York Times and The Economist, WiTopia certainly does well in the first impressions stakes. Rebranded from the originally named Full Mesh Networks; WiTopia has been operating since 2003. Their aim has always been to supply "complicated and expensive security technology over the Internet as a set of managed services." They created their personalVPN in March 2005 to optimize their ...

Fast, Secure & Works!
Works well and fast. Very easy interface and lots of different servers. I’ve used a few others and so ... far this one is my favorite. I use it on iPhone, iPad, and MacOS and it always works great without fail.
Highly recommend!More

Ok service, awful client
The service when working is ok and has no lag depending on which service you connect with. But nothing... to get excited about. I'm confused by those who have been 10 years with them.
The windows client on the other hand is heinous. I was for over 6 months denied access to the client as the update informed me my version of Windows 10 was not supported. I had connected customer support various times and they kept telling me to roll back a version. Eventually, there was an update but nobody informed me it was out. I had been unable to use the service for months.
Additionally, the default DNS service can reject your DNS requests. I've had times where even when disconnected from the VPN I've been unable to use the internet altogether because their DNS service won't respond. Additionally the windows client often will revert from my choice of using my ISP's DNS when disconnected to back to witopia DNS and then refuse to connect to any of my networking services. I've had to remove the client various times from various Windows machines and flag this bug. Unfortunately I have a multi-year subscription that I cannot end, I pray for the day for the subscription to be over.More

Have been with them for several years, love their service
November 2021
PING ms 16
DOWNLOAD Mbps 254.92
UPLOAD Mbps 10.79 (running atop Comcast cable broad... band Docsis 3.0)
I had previously been using on per device using the available tg vpn clients (in my case Linux & android). They recently upgraded all their vpn servers to wireguard based service. I had to manually reconfigure the client at that point as the switchover from OpenVPN to wireguard protocols broke my connection, though after that all was well again. I have since acquired a Netgate 1100 pfSense+ Security Gateway, and configured failover torguard VPNs to the 3 closest torguard sites as wireguard VPNs on the security gateway (Torguard has a tools page in the member's area that will generate configuration details to use for router/gateway vpn configuration). Running everything through the security gateway, you can specify which devices you want over the vpn or not, and set a killswitch firewall rule to cut off your connection if the vpn goes down if that is important for your use case.
I've been using torguard primarily for BitTorrent the whole time (even prior to the user via the security gateway) without any issues and always with great download speeds.
Not sure about those complaining about speed, but as you can see the above stats which I just ran off speedtest.net when writing this post, these are decent speeds and not much overhead (I think the best ever d/l I've gotten on the raw Comcast non-vpn is about ~275-280 MPs), using their nearest point of presence which is approx 90 miles from my origin IP. Wireguard gives much better performance than OpenVPN-based vpn protocols. They sometimes offer special (permanent) discount pricing, which I took advantage of so they have turned out to be a very reasonably cheap service for me, renewing at the discount price yearly.
Their customer support has always been responsive whenever I've had questions.

Does not work with firestick
Their VPN does not work with 1st gen firesticks. They did not post this on their site. I paid $60 for ... a 1-year membership. After 7 days got a notice from Spectrum 18 complaints "Notice of Copyright Infringement" emails from the spectrum. Contact billing for refund, they gave me the runaround and kept asking the same questions over and over again. Then told me a refund is not available after 7 days. However, it takes spectrum over 7 days to send a complaint and they never said it didn't work with 1st gen firestick. Also, the app connected to vpn through the firestick and never said it had an issue. So this company is scamming, do not use it if you want to get a "Notice of Copyright Infringement" letter from Spectrum and no refund.More
