Normally when I compare VPNs, I have to weigh up different factors and features to find out which is the best one. In the case of BroVPN vs VyprVPN though, the winner is obvious.

To put it simply, one of these VPNs is among the absolute worst services I've ever tested. It doesn't compare to its rival on speed, unblocking, streaming, torrenting, security, or server network.

VyprVPN has been top-class for years. It’s known for its powerful security features, fast speeds, and compatibility with Mac, Android, iOS, and more. But recently, I've seen many people claim that the service has gaps in its online protection. So, I carried out in-depth tests to see if VyprVPN is safe. I began by testing its security features and deep diving into its privacy policy. I also put ...

    Chameleon is Amazing

I tried CyberGhost, Express, and Nord VPN over the last month. None of these were able to get by my in... stitution's Fortigate Firewall doing Deep Packet Inspection scanning. They are using some sort of Obfuscation technique but they were not good enough. I read about VyprVpn's Chameleon protocol. YES... It worked !!!! I do have to sacrifice speed but at least I get outside access. When I am out of that environment, I switch back to Wireguard and the speed increases 300%. The price is great, their Live chat was great when I questioned their own DNS servers. They were easy to reach with the chat and took the time to explain how their DNS servers worked. I highly recommend VyprVPN !!!More

    I don't have time to...

The company behind VyprVPN, Goldenfrog claims to have taken steps to improve its reliability, security... , and quality of service. I'm not sure when they said this, however, in 2022, reliability and QoS are going downhill quickly. I've been using Vypr for over a year with the software installed and executing on each PC. Everything worked relatively well until about three months ago when I began experiencing frequent and intermittent connectivity issues. Thinking that my 10-year-old router might be the cause, I installed a new TPLink router with all the latest technology After many hours of side-by-side testing with two computers on the same LAN, I have observed that a PC with the VPN turned off had 100% connectivity while a PC using Vypr had the issues. I have adjusted Vypr to use various protocols and TAP adaptors with no success in improving the QoS. As such, I'm convinced that my PCs and LAN are operating as they should. Further, from the beginning, I configured Vypr to always connect to a server in Canada. Every time I boot my PC I use "whatismyip.com" to make sure that the PC is operating through the Vypr. About half the time it connects to a server in the USA and yet the software says that it is connected to Canada. I use a couple of business online services with geolocation services that require a Canada connection so I also know when Vypr connects to the USA when I am blocked from logging in to one of the business services. IT's really annoying when the software says it's connected to Canada and yet it is not. The biggest annoyance is that I now find I have to check my external IP every time I boot a device. Why should I have to do this? I've used other VPNs and they just worked all the time. I never had to keep checking them to make sure they are working correctly. I've also done security testing to make sure there are no IP or DNS leaks or any other issues and it appears that Vypr lives up to its reputation of being secure. If the service would operate consistently so that I don't have to always check it or disconnect and reconnect to force a Canada server, I could give Vypr 5 stars. Overall it's not a bad service, however, if the QoS continues to degrade, I may be forced to go back to one of the other VPNs that I've used. I don't have time to "handhold" VyprVPN.More

roVPN is a P2P network/VPN hybrid. It’s similar to Tor, but with less features and lower security. It offers eight servers to premium members, and one server with its cheapest account. As you can imagine, this doesn't make it a great choice for streaming. BroVPN isn't able to unblock Netflix or any other streaming site. If you use BroVPN's $1 per month plan, your device will be used as a P2P net...

It works, it is fast, it is reliable and gives users maximum security when viewing content online. Gre... at for mobile devices and any streaming media player. I tried other free VPNs that were free but not as low-quality. It’s good that I found this service, a really great solution.More

More

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

VyprVPN is the best overall. Not because it's an amazing service, but simply because BroVPN is almost entirely useless. It's slow, almost impossible to get started with, couldn't unblock any sites I tested, and isn't even safe to use. In comparison, VyprVPN offers a decent, secure service with good unblocking abilities and reasonable (though sometimes inconsistent) speeds.

    Best VPN for Torrents

VyprVPN is better. I can't recommend BroVPN for P2P activity because it openly says it monitors your online activity, so you can't torrent in safety and privacy. VyprVPN has an independently audited no-logs policy and supports P2P traffic.

    Best VPN for Windows

VyprVPN is better because it has an easy-to-use native Windows app with plenty of security features — including automatic WiFi protection that safeguards your device on public networks.

    Best VPN for Android

VyprVPN is better because its Android client lets you choose which apps route through the VPN. This handy form of split tunneling gives you complete control over your traffic. For example, you can unblock content on streaming apps while accessing your banking app as normal (to avoid triggering alerts).

    Best VPN for Mac

VyprVPN is better. Its macOS app comes with an automatic kill switch that cuts off your internet if you lose connection to the VPN. That way you're protected against your location or identity being exposed.

    Best VPN for iOS

VyprVPN is better because its iOS app has an interactive server map designed specifically for use with iPads. It also supports most versions of iOS and is easy to use on iPhones too.

    Best VPN for USA

VyprVPN is better — but mostly because I would never use BroVPN in the US. The States are famously anti-privacy, so you need a really secure VPN to guard against snoops and monitoring. BroVPN logs everything you do online, so VyprVPN is a much safer bet.

    The Bottom Line

Full disclosure: neither of these VPNs is my favorite. So when I say that VyprVPN is better than BroVPN, it's not because VyprVPN is flawless. It's just that BroVPN is so bad, I'd choose almost any other service instead. That being said, VyprVPN does have its merits. It's decent for streaming (if a little slow sometimes) and offers great security and privacy measures.

If I'm being honest though, there are other VPNs I would choose over either of these services. For example, ExpressVPN has a much bigger network with much faster speeds. Overall, it's a more reliable choice than VyprVPN.
