CyberGhost and OverPlay are two VPN providers that make it easy to bypass geoblocks from around the world. They both offer unlimited bandwidth, cross-platform support, and dedicated apps for MacOS, iOS, Android, Windows, and Linux devices. You can also download torrents and rest assured that no logs are kept by either of these providers. If you specifically need to use OpenVPN, PPTP, or L2TP, you can get those protocols with both VPNs.

If you’re thinking these VPNs are very similar, however, you’ll be surprised to learn that there is actually a huge gap between them. While CyberGhost offers a 30-day money-back guarantee for all subscriptions, OverPlay only allows refunds within the first five days. OverPlay also supports only three simultaneous device connections, whereas CyberGhost allows up to seven. OverPlay maintains a network of over 650 servers in 50+ countries, but that is significantly smaller than CyberGhost’s network of 2,700+ servers in 60+ countries. A more complete comparison follows below.

CyberGhost is one of the most affordable VPNs on the market — you can get a subscription for as low as $2.19/month. I sometimes assume that price indicates quality, but with VPNs, I've been proven wrong before. So I wanted to see whether CyberGhost can really deliver at such a low price. I did a deep dive into CyberGhost’s privacy policy and security measures to determine whether it’s secu...

Great interface and is very intuitive. Many locations with reasonably fast speeds. There are a lot of ... essential features I like as well. Wireguard, Wifi Protect, Etc. I took out the 2-year plan at a fair discount so I can say that, given the price, it's a decent balance of quantity and quality.More

    Pretty good

CyberGhost does not connect automatically in pc when I connect online. Why? And on my phone (Android)...  it sometimes gets stuck, it does not open the app when vpn is working. I have to connect the VPN in my phone settings first. That is pretty annoying.More

Important. OverPlay has been acquired by StrongVPN. Current OverPlay customers now get all the features of StrongVPN. If you have any questions, you can contact StrongVPN's 24/7 support (via email or live chat). Reliable proxies will provide you with optimum security and anonymity with a fast, reliable internet connection. Most premium services that we recommend, such as ExpressVPN, will do just t...

Poor technical support. No refund after canceling. Unfortunately, I have to give one star. Subscribed ... for a month, then cancelled on their site after having many problems connecting. Didn’t get a refund , and after contacting them , they said none would be issued. Stay well away from Overplay. Many of my expat friends had the same problem . RipoffMore

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

yberGhost offers you more in terms of security, pricing options, and speed, and as a result is the VPN we recommend. Still, OverPlay is a reliable VPN and is great for bypassing geoblocks from over 50 countries worldwide.

    Best VPN for Torrents

If you need a VPN with dedicated high speed servers for torrenting and other P2P file sharing, CyberGhost is the ideal choice. OverPlay also supports torrenting on its servers but does not measure up to the speed of CyberGhost.

    Best VPN for Windows

CyberGhost has a Windows app that actively protects your PC from malware and offers access to all its 2,700+ servers. Meanwhile, OverPlay for Windows has a built-in Smart DNS feature alongside military-grade encryption.

    Best VPN for Android

A 7-day free trial and an advanced ad blocker are just some of the features that make CyberGhost an excellent VPN for Android. It’s also more user-friendly that OverPlay, with a beautiful design and layout. OverPlay offers its own Android app that features strong security via the OpenVPN protocol and a choice between AES 128/256-bit encryption.

    Best VPN for Mac

CyberGhost for MacOS is very user-friendly and includes an active monitor showing how many malicious websites have been blocked and how much tracking has been prevented. OverPlay has a dedicated MacOS client that automatically updates to its current server list and also provides access to more than 40,000 shared IP addresses.

    Best VPN for iOS

With support for up to seven simultaneous connections and security features like a kill switch, CyberGhost takes care of iOS users exceptionally well. OverPlay also has an iOS app and although it does not have a kill switch, it can be easily setup and allows up to three simultaneous device connections.

    Best VPN for USA

CyberGhost has dedicated US servers with a track record of reliably bypassing geoblocks from Netflix, HBO, and other similar American websites and providers. Although OverPlay claims to unblock Netflix, it can only do so via a computer browser and users have complained in the past about its inability to access the streaming service.

    The Bottom Line

OverPlay has a lot to offer, but when it comes to providing more value for your money, a truly outstanding service, and great customer support, CyberGhost is certainly the winner of this comparison. Built-in features like malware protection and ad blocking, combined with the convenience of preconfigured profiles for different uses, make it one of the best VPNs available today. In addition, CyberGhost is extremely easy to use, thanks to one of the best user interfaces offered by a VPN provider.
