IPVanish and OverPlay VPN offer very different services by any measure, from network size to performance. While OverPlay combines its VPN with a SmartDNS feature and has 650+ servers in 50+ countries, IPVanish provides a premium VPN with over 1,000 servers in 61 countries. OverPlay allows only three simultaneous device connections, compared to IPVanish’s support for up to 10 connections. IPVanish also has more affordable subscription plans.

These VPNs are very similar in several ways, however. Both IPVanish and OverPlay ask users to make a decision about keeping their subscriptions quickly, offering a 7-day and 5-day money-back guarantee, respectively. Both offer unlimited bandwidth and support for torrenting, and both have dedicated apps for all major desktop and mobile operating systems, including MacOS, Android, iOS, and Windows. They also use strong encryption to protect user data. Unlimited server switching and support for the PPTP, L2TP, and OpenVPN protocols can also be expected with either of these VPNs.

IPVanish offers high-speed connections and an impressive list of advanced security features at a budget-friendly price. So, I was eager to test it out for myself. I carefully studied its privacy policy and thoroughly tested its speeds, security features, and streaming capabilities. I also looked into its network coverage and ease of use before putting its customer service team to the test. ...

    Very, very satisfied

I am into my third year of using IPVanish. I am extremely happy with the speed, reliability, features ... and reliability. The fact that I have used it for this long without trying the competition speaks volumes. I am never going to try anything else because I am completely happy with what I have. Why risk it?More

Misleading, false advertising, don't honor guarantee. BEWARE

IP address and region not effectively blocked on most sites. Streaming sites do NOT work with their se... rvices, but they do not disclose that anywhere on their website. The support team had no idea in terms of technical knowledge. They claim that their 30-day guarantee is unconditional and there is no risk, but they have so many exclusions buried in their fine print that the average user would have huge difficulty finding. They advertise on many streaming how-to websites where they KNOW their services do not work. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. If I could give less than one star I would. SO unethical.More

Important. OverPlay has been acquired by StrongVPN. Current OverPlay customers now get all the features of StrongVPN. If you have any questions, you can contact StrongVPN's 24/7 support (via email or live chat). Reliable proxies will provide you with optimum security and anonymity with a fast, reliable internet connection. Most premium services that we recommend, such as ExpressVPN, will do just t...

Versatile and flexible, but poor technical support

I use several different devices, both for work and play, and with Overplay I can use my computer, my s... martphone and my tablet with the same VPN connection at the same time. Tech support, though, needs to improve, and I think a live chat support would make quite a difference.More

    Awful

Poor technical support. No refund after canceling. Unfortunately, I have to give one star. Subscribed ... for a month, then cancelled on their site after having many problems connecting. Didn’t get a refund , and after contacting them , they said none would be issued. Stay well away from Overplay. Many of my expat friends had the same problem . RipoffMore

    Best VPN by Category

    Best VPN Overall

IPVanish is bigger, faster, and more secure than OverPlay, making it our choice for overall VPN performance. OverPlay’s combination of SmartDNS and VPN is attractive and fairly reliable, but the VPN offers less overall in terms of security features.

    Best VPN for Torrents

IPVanish supports torrenting, includes port forwarding, and uses a SOCKS5 proxy to keep users anonymous. OverPlay also allows torrenting on its servers but falls behind IPVanish with respect to speed and security.

    Best VPN for Windows

If you need a very secure Windows app with LAN blocking and IPv6 leak protection, IPVanish is an ideal choice. OverPlay, on the other hand, has its own dedicated Windows app that can be easily configured, with access to all its 650+ servers.

    Best VPN for Android

With an Android app that features OpenVPN scrambling and access to 40,000 IPs, IPVanish earns our recommendation for Android users. Meanwhile, OverPlay also has an Android app with identity theft protection and a strict no-logs policy.

    Best VPN for Mac

If you need a MacOS VPN that’s very user-friendly and features automatic IP switching and a kill switch, IPVanish is the clear choice. OverPlay’s MacOS app uses military-grade 256-bit encryption and features unlimited server switching and WiFi blacklisting.

    Best VPN for iOS

IPVanish’s iOS app is very user-friendly and features 3D touch connections and API load balancing, which connects you to the best available server nearest to you. OverPlay also has an iOS app that supports the IKEv2 protocol and offers access to 300+ servers and 5,000+ IP addresses within its network.

    Best VPN for USA

IPVanish has hundreds of US servers, making it ideal for streaming American media. It’s also capable of unblocking Netflix-US. OverPlay has nearly 300 US servers for accessing US content from anywhere worldwide, but is inconsistent in unblocking US Netflix.

    The Bottom Line

IPVanish offers an exceptional service in comparison to OverPlay and is therefore our winner of this contest. Although OverPlay is an advanced service provider that combines the benefits of a VPN and SmartDNS, it still does not match up to the speed and security offered by IPVanish. In particular, users concerned about leak protection will be better served by IPVanish, as it offers protection from IPv6 leaks and has a kill switch.

IPVanish also offers better customer support and more effectively bypasses tough geoblocks. Finally, IPVanish offers lower subscription prices, so it clearly gives you more value for your money.
