Once again, we see three VPN serves that seem to deliver good services, but we’re here to find out which one of these is the best. When taking a first look at IPVanish, it seems to have a great reputation for making you untraceable and perfectly hiding your IP, as its same suggests. Proxpn also offers geo-location privacy and data encryption to keep all your data private. Unlocator allows you to access any data, regardless of any location restrictions. Unlike the others, Unlocator doesn’t host any content, but only takes away all location limits.

It’s been a number of years since IPVanish handed over data to the FBI (in 2016), and the company is still based in the not-so-privacy-friendly US. So, I wanted to make sure that IPVanish is as safe as it claims today. To find out, I carefully studied IPVanish’s privacy policy, researched its ownership, and tested its security features. I also looked into its speeds, streaming abilities, s...

Very, very satisfied

I am into my third year of using IPVanish. I am extremely happy with the speed, reliability, features ... and reliability. The fact that I have used it for this long without trying the competition speaks volumes. I am never going to try anything else because I am completely happy with what I have. Why risk it?More

Misleading, false advertising, don't honor guarantee. BEWARE

IP address and region not effectively blocked on most sites. Streaming sites do NOT work with their se... rvices, but they do not disclose that anywhere on their website. The support team had no idea in terms of technical knowledge. They claim that their 30-day guarantee is unconditional and there is no risk, but they have so many exclusions buried in their fine print that the average user would have huge difficulty finding. They advertise on many streaming how-to websites where they KNOW their services do not work. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY. If I could give less than one star I would. SO unethical.More

Unlocator started as a Denmark-based Smart DNS provider in 2013, but it has now leveled up by providing a VPN service. I wondered whether this new addition could offer me the security and functionality I expect from a VPN service, so I tested it myself. I found that Unlocator VPN is completely secure only when using the OpenVPN protocol. However, for its price tag of almost $10 per month, t...

Used To Be Good, but...

It's always breaking down and while they will remedy the problem quickly, if you're not on Denmark tim... e, like me in Tokyo, you lose half the day, waiting for them to fix it. If the system were a little less prone to breakdowns, it would still be good. The setting up procedure is simple that even a dunce like me had no problem.More

For many people, finding the perfect VPN is a top priority. It’s understandable; we all are looking to surf the web securely and privately and a good VPN can help us do just that. There are hundreds of VPNs out there at a range of prices, and if having a great VPN is important to you, then you’re most likely willing to invest a bit of money into it. However, with all of the options, it’s im...

Been quite good so far.

I heard about ProXPN from Steve Gibson's "Security Now!" podcast, and purchased it on their recommenda... tion and review. For the most part I have no complaints. I have used VPN4ALL (Which was good too), but I found dollar for dollar ProXPN was better. I've used HideMyAss as well and left over some misgivings I had at the time over whether or not they would actually keep my info private from state authorities - I can't say if that is still an issue now (April 2017) as it was a while back. Bottom line, I am happy with ProXPN at the moment and have not desire/need to leave. The ONLY reason I don't give it 5 stars is that I am also a Linux user with which it is not compatible yet. 4 stars for now because of that (5 if they make it compatible with Linux)More

No longer supported, i switched to another VPN provider.

I heard about PROXPN from Security Now and was a happy user for many years (albeit the connection app ... was outdated and data throughput speeds were slower than expected). However when their root certificate expired I could no longer connect to any VPN server and this continued for many months, so I switched to another VPN provider and will never consider using PROXPN again. Their connection app doesn't integrate well with Windows 10. After disconnecting from the VPN server, I had to manually change network adaptor settings from static IP assignment (which the PROXPN app does upon connection) back to DHCP assigned IP address to prevent network connection issues later. Also, some VPN servers would drop the VPN connection often and the kill switch simply didn't work on any of my computers.More

The Bottom Line

When it comes to privacy, IPVanish is the clear winner, as they do not keep any data and are stars at keeping your IP private. ProXPN and Unlocator seem to measure up to one another, but serve different purposes: Unlocator only allows you to surf the internet without location restrictions, while ProXPN goes the extra mile by keeping your data encrypted and your location private. So, your choice really depends on your preference and how you want to use the VPN.
