PureVPN versus IronSocketVPN is an evaluation that is quite close with both products almost equal on features. Both companies are based in Hong Kong. Encryption is accomplished over 256-bits in both PureVPN and IronSocket. On the protocol front, Iron Socket supports L2TP, PPTP, HTTP and SOCKS5. PureVPN is also nearly there with L2TP/IP-Sec, PPTP, SSTP and IKEv2 as well as Stealth protocol. Looking at supported devices, IronSocket is compatible with Mac OS X, all Windows versions, PS, Xbox, Wii, routers, TV, iOS and Android. It is with advanced features and ease-of-use that PureVPN makes its mark with a stack full of features such as its IP Leakage protection and Internet Kill-switch. Coming to pricing, PureVPN is again way ahead of the game when compared with IronSocket. Access to all servers is another beneficial feature of the PureVPN model, with all pricing plans having this feature enabled.

PureVPN assisted the FBI by providing them with a potential cybercriminal’s data back in 2017, making its customers doubt its privacy procedures. Since then, the company has spent a great deal of time making improvements to its service. I wanted to test whether the improvements have made as much of a difference as I hoped. Overall, I was seriously impressed with PureVPN’s test results. I h...

An excellent value, all things considered

While they will absolutely throttle p2p in most servers, it's easy to find and log into the p2p server... s. They responded promptly when I had questions (although once it was basically to say "sorry, tough luck"). Overall though, I think I paid something like $20 for a year's subscription - I really can't complain. I'm sold on the service, although I think the fact that it's based out of HK is a bit spooky. 9/10More

Below par, look elsewhere

Pricewise, it is reasonable. For the past three years, I have had many problems with connecting to int... ernational TV channels. Mainly the UK's, BBC, ITV, and Channel 4. They were unaccessible 50% of the time, their message stating that only UK customers are allowed! Very frustrating. Also, the download speed when connected to PureVPN was extremely slow, with endless rotating circles and waits. Totally unacceptable. On requesting help from PureVPN, the assistance was inadequate. I was given a link and asked to find my way. At other times I was instructed to change protocol and other ridiculous commands that the majority of subscribers would not remotely understand! Unhelpful for the subscribers who are not IT pros!! My subscription has few months till expiry, but I have switched to another VPN supplier which has proven to be simpler to operate, faster, and so far, has been able to access my chosen channels effortlessly. I was frequently unable to watch my programs, angered and frustrated with this service and their responses to my requests for help. I do not recommend PureVPN and would suggest that for a few dollars more, potential subscribers should look elsewhere.More

IronSocket has 68 servers located in 36 countries around the world and, while it is not the largest VPN provider around, it still takes your privacy seriously. It claims to be able to unblock several streaming sites too but I was disappointed to see that Netflix is not one of them. IronSocket is a VPN provider whose headquarters are located in Hong Kong, and they market their service to those ...

The best VPN

How great is this company's customer service? After recently renewing for another year of service, I e... mailed them because I made an error in creating a new account. This was their reply: "It looks like you missed that we're offering a 50% discount on annual subscriptions. We've taken the time from your new subscription and added it to your current monthly subscription and we've also added an additional year FOC. Your new Next Due Date is now 24 December 2020." Seriously, they gave me an entire additional year of service for free. Try to beat that. On top of their excellent pricing, their service and tech support is top notch with quick responses and excellent assistance. I cannot recommend them highly enough.More

Terrible service

Rude, unpleasant CS. Their service becomes too often unavailable. Netflix does not work and the respon... se from CS is "works for me here". They offer a nice setup with SOCKS5 proxies over VPN but it is no longer helpful to protect your data.More

IronSocket provides features such as DNS Proxy, whereas PureVPN has engineered its own robust app framework. PureVPN comes with a host of features such as Split Tunneling and DDoS protection. Server locations are also quite extensive in comparison with IronSocket VPN. Combined with very low-scale pricing, PureVPN’s matching a 7-day money-back guarantee is just the right pitch for enabling customers to experience its all-round effective product. The Dedicated IP feature delivers an exceptional quality of service for users looking to achieve the highest-possible level of privacy.
