Which VPN is better?

Francis Bacon said: “Knowledge is power”, which is perhaps why a VPN is becoming increasingly crucial to many internet users. There is an abundance of information available on the internet, much of it personal, and many of us are unwilling to see that information fall into the hands of hackers, government moles or advertisers. As VPN technology becomes ever more erudite, so does the process of selecting the right product. One of the benefits of PIA VPN is that, as a US-based company, it doesn’t have to abide by data retention laws that affect providers such as Overplay in the UK. Overplay’s advantage over PIA is its compatibility with a range of devices. In this competitive world, affordability, speed, server location and abundance and customer service are all key and, sadly, Zenmate battles to stay in the competition in any of these categories. Limited servers and poor customer service are particularly damaging to Zenmate’s appeal.

One area in which Zenmate does excel is offering five concurrent connections, which brings them inline with PIA VPN. All three VPNs discussed here are a little behind the times with their customer service, failing to offer much in terms of live chat or direct communications. All three VPNs have simple, user-friendly interfaces but Zenmate fails to offer much more in the way of additional features such as encryption levels, handshaking and a kill switch.
PIA has all of these and more, making it the overall winner in this contest.

Interestingly, if you compare Private Internet Access with ExpressVPN, which is our top ranked vpn, you'll see that Private Internet Access can learn a lot from ExpressVPN. Compare Private Internet Access with ExpressVPN
